from what I've seen on twitter it appears to have to do with the APR situation.

Not to steal anyone's thunder, but David Ubben reporting on twitter:

"The NCAA has amended OSU's APR score to 930. School no longer faces practice restrictions as penalty."

I'll be curious to hear what caused the amendment.

It appears the oSu bean counters have provided better information to the NCAA on the beans, and oSu will no longer be facing any Academic Progress Rate practice penalty.

It's official now as it's on the okstate.com website.

"Earlier this summer, OSU athletic department officials discovered the recent graduation of student-athlete from the 1990s, which resulted in the addition of a delayed graduation point to push the Cowboys above the threshold for restrictions."

Always happy to hear someone came back and got their degree, but it's especially good news this time. Wonder who it was.

damn, shutout again

my recurring dream is to find out that I own through a long lost relative's will, the land on which Gaylord Stadium is built
I lease the land to u0 for $20 million a year, for five years
then I bring in the demolition crew and implode the stadium into a burning heap

If your recurring dream has to do with OU, I think you need to seek some professional help.

Yes, this was the good news, and it is very good news. Gundy put a good spin on the penalty, but the stigma and changes that would be needed were not helpful for the program.

Hey!
I let them use it for 5 years for $100 million

but the real reason:
to let them complete all the renovations they are planning so the fire is bigger

Do you guys have to turn EVERY thread into an OU thread? This simply feeds the "little brother" mentality.

Last time I checked, OSU stands on it's own merit.

That makes me smile.    and laugh.    I need good chuckles every day.  This one does.

And build a county jail right in that same spot Gaylord stadium was.

Absolutely.   We were the only school in D1 that had received a penalty.

Even though, originally, we failed by less than 1 point.    Actually 1/2 point, it was not a good thing for us.

I wonder what changed.   It would not have taken much obviously (just normal number rounding?), but something did.

technically, I think it was only big D1 program..... New Mexico State and UNLV also got reduced practice time restrictions, I believe

but the stigma point is valid...
