Cornucopia Of Crimes

Apparently all heck has broken loose in the world of college football. Dismissals, suspensions, arrests involving UT, UGa, Southern Miss, Washington's QB just to name the ones in the last 24 hours.

What's worse, tOSU fired their Band Director for harassment.

Sort of makes OSU's issues look trivial. Sort of.
I know, you think I'm an idiot. Try to explain it to me without condescension and arrogance and I might be persuaded

Over the last week, I think the Longhorn's have set themselves apart from the rest of the pack.

Talk is heating up that OU super recruit Joe Mixon punched a girl in the face last night.   Maybe he'll get a medical redshirt.

Just saw on Twitter:

Norman PD investigating aggravated assault report at Picklemans ~2:40 a.m. No arrests.

Scuttlebutt - unverified - is that it involve an OU FB player. Repeat: NOT VERIFIED.

Norman police responded to an incident at Pickleman’s Gourmet Café in Norman at 2:39 a.m. on Friday. A spokesman for Pickleman’s gave no comment on the situation.

Should have been in bed at that late hour.

Pickleman's Gourmet Cafe is open until 3:00 Thursday thru Saturday.

You know, there's not much difference between the NFL police blotter and the College football police blotter.

Is it me, the 24/7 news, internet...or do we seem to be reaching some critical point of antisocial behavior with these guys?

Re: Cornucopia Of Crimes

Looks like Mixon is not accustomed to being told no...

It is amazing how DOK has a really nice picture of Mixon on the top of the article...
newsok.com/ou-freshman-joe-mix...article/5075926

Molitor said she had never seen Mixon before he punched her in the face, breaking four bones. She said Mixon was “harassing” her and some of her friends at Pickleman’s before the incident.

“He punched me one time,” she said. “He broke my face in four places … my nose, my sinuses … they’re broken.”

Molitor, who spoke confidently over the protests of her mother, said she plans to take legal action against Mixon, and added that she fears the wrath of OU fans.

“That’s my big fear (the fans),” Molitor said. “I’ve been told to stay off of social media to avoid (OU fans) coming after me on there.”

Molitor said she plans to sue Mixon, in some capacity, and that she hopes the running back “goes to prison for years.”

“That’s what he deserves,” she said. “I don’t care if he’s the star running back or not.”

Mixon was among the most highly recruited prospects in the country, and his early January committment to OU was met with immense joy and excitement.

Re: Cornucopia Of Crimes

The police’s incident report reveals that an unnamed male subject assaulted a woman inside the restaurant. The report states that Molitor suffered “apparent broken bones” following the incident.

“A female was hit in the face by a male subject — (the subject) is gone — she is in the bathroom … she is (conscious) and she is intoxicated … She is bleeding from the mouth … no difficulty breathing,” the report states.

So is his defense going to be that she accosted him after he denied her a sexual session in the men's restroom?

Has he been arrested yet or are the police still looking for him?

I will await first his mug shot.

Re: Cornucopia Of Crimes

http://www.usatoday.com/story/...ation/13199681/

Mixon's attorney, Kevin Finlay, told The Norman Transcript on Friday evening that Mixon had not been arrested, but was "fully cooperating with authorities and look forward to resolving this matter."

I guess I don't understand how he is cooperating and he has not been arrested.  Didn't the police say they were looking for him to arrest him?

Is he cooperating by answering their questions by long distance telephone or is the cooperation just by his attorney so far? biggrin

I await his surrender to authorities and that mug shot.

Kevin Finlay, an attorney in Norman, confirmed to this newspaper that he was contacted by Mixon shortly after the incident.

"We've been fully cooperating with the authorities, and Joe is looking forward to the truth coming out," Finlay said.

Finlay said that, contrary to previous reports, the police were not actively looking for Mixon, a former Freedom High-Oakley star.

"I had heard it had escalated to a manhunt, and that's absolutely not true," Finlay said. "I've been in constant contact with the authorities, and when requested, Joe will be made available to them."

Re: Cornucopia Of Crimes

Given an attorney's job is to protect their client, we can't expect more than this sort of response. Unfortunately.

Personally, I'm not so sure what is being reported is all true. Makes little sense that someone with broken facial bones is well enough to speak with reporters....and feisty enough to tell them she's going to sue him within roughly 24 hours of being face down on the floor of a restaurant at 2:40 am.

i do think something bad happened but this is a bit peculiar..

Re: Cornucopia Of Crimes

I agree wtih most of what you're saying, with the exception of the facial bones part.

Having dealt with broken facial bones plenty, her being able to talk isn't really that unusual at all.

Now, that being said, I found her comments to be pretty interesting.  I'll be curious to see whether the supposed video of the incident ever becomes public.

One thing's for sure, though.  If he's booted, it's a big loss for OU.  Everyone around the OU team says this kid will play this year without question & has that difference maker type of talent.  I think their other backs are servicable, but none really next level type of guys at this point.

Re: Cornucopia Of Crimes

Charges against Joe Mixon will be dropped after he is arrested, because the victim will be paid off and the prosecutor will have an uncooperative victim.

This will all happen before fall practices.

OU will not be denied its Adrian Peterson II.
