She is a Jersey girl and a horse enthusiast. Coach Spencer plus Bullet is a match made in heaven.

I'm happy for them... but is no one else scratching their heads just a little bit?

Am I the only one thinking that 18 months after your spouse passes away is WAY to early to get engaged?

Have you ever lost a spouse after a long illness?  If not, then you should keep your comments to yourself.  Until you have walked in another man's shoes, keep your opinions to yourself.  I cannot believe someone would post this.banghead

Good for him.

Saw them together last August at IHOP in Downtown OKC.

Re: WAY TO GO COACH SPENCER!

Just to make sure I understand your point, you want someone to keep their opinion to themselves on an open message board?

Isn't expressing one's opinion the purpose of a message board?

All I said was that I was happy for them but am a little confused with the speed of the relationship. If that makes you want to "bang your head against a wall" then that's your problem.

As someone who deals with people during their last days, I can tell you that often spouses in this situation will give their blessing for the surviving spouse to move on. There is no timetable as all people grieve at different rates.

I understand that. I also understand that 2nd marriages have about a 67% failure rate. One of the main reasons for this high failure rate is "rebounding". I hope this marriage works for them... but I am concerned about the speed if this.

RE: WAY TO GO COACH SPENCER!

I totally understand your thoughts. If this were a situation where Coach Spencer was coming out of a divorce I would be more concerned. Most 2nd marriages after the death of a spouse that I have known of work out well. Actually I cant think of one that didnt. Im sure there are situations.

Ive even known of a couple of dying spouses picking out their own replacements! Talk about awkward.

Pokefan, you haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about. It's certainly not too soon. Glen Spencer deserves all the happiness that life gives him after such a devastating loss. He's one of the best people around. Good for him.

Maybe the only two words to be said in regard to this engagement should be 'congratulations' for most of us and 'interesting' for some of us.
