WE LOOKED BETTER THAN EXPECTED, SOME BREAKOUT TALENT

WE LOOKED BETTER THAN EXPECTED, SOME BREAKOUT TALENT

LIKE MCCAFFREY AND OUR TES.  I'M WORRIED ABOUT OUR OLINE.  THAT WAS UCD OUT THERE, AND WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE DOMINANT THAN WE WERE UP FRONT...
I STILL THINK HOGAN CAN'T THROW UNDERS AND CROSSING ROUTES, HE'S STILL GOT A LONG MOTION AND STARES DOWN RECEIVERS.
IT WAS THE FIRST GAME, BUT SC LOOKED PRETTY DAMN GOOD AGAINST A BETTER OPPONENT...
GIVE OUR RB'S MORE TOUCHES AND DON'T SUB THEM OUT SO OFTEN, LET THEM GET A LITTLE SUSTAINED ACTION- IT'S GOOD FOR THEM AND OUR OLINE.
DAVID PARRY LOOKED GREAT, WE NEED HIM TO STAY HEALTHY ALL YEAR.  MARTINEZ LOOKED GOOD TOO.
WE'LL SEE WHAT WE'VE REALLY GOT NEXT WEEK, BUT I WAS GENERALLY PRETTY HAPPY WITH THE WAY THIS ONE TURNED OUT, IT EXCEEDED MY NORMAL EARLY SEASON EXPECTATIONS.
NO DELAY OF GAME PENALTIES FOR A CHANGE...
OUR D LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE WITH OUR NEW DC TOO.

I'm glad you like what you saw out of Martinez, I did too.  You and DD were high on him from the start.  How did you like Tarpley?  Our buddy Papadakis actually likes him better than Skov because he felt like Tarpley just handled his business while Skov was a little too prone to celebrate...obviously Skov was great but I put a lock of stock in what John says about linebackers...your thoughts?

I'm withholding all judgment until Sat afternoon.  We play a real good team with outstanding WR talent and backend on the "D".

Kessler looked really good yesterday and he who wins the majority of the 3rd down battles on both sides of the ball wins the game.

McCaffery does hold some real exciting potential which means bye, bye Barry.

Hogan still Hogan, nothing great nothing real bad.

Our "D" has the potential to be better than last yr.

Montgomery is "special"!

Hibachi was on full broil yesterday.

Macaffrey will score a ton of TD's before he's done. He is NOT Darrin Nelson however.

Sorry Rock.  You get thick skin hanging out with members of the Executive Board....I take more abuse from septuagenarians on Balboa Island every 4th of July....You'll have to ramp it up if you really want some back and forth!!!!

Bring the noise this Saturday.  You can provide some "consolidated" analysis before I go on camera Post Game...

I SAID LAST YEAR TARPLEY WAS OUR BEST ILB, I GUESS YOU MISSED THAT.  HE'S A STUD, MUCH BETTER IN PASS COVERAGE THAN SKOV EVER WAS.

Nelson is out of eligibility anyway.

....and a voice made for Silent Film.  Other than that, though, I like my chances in this business.

Oh, and way to show up to the game, Brewster.  You couldn't coordinate your Jet-setting with a date you've known about for over a year?!?!?!?!?!  This dereliction of duty will not stand, Man.  BGCard nearly incited a race war in 235 without you there....Only the presence of Mrs. BGC, BobbK, and a semi-concussed Lil' BGC kept him from going Whirling Dervish on the next crop of poor bastards stuck sitting behind him.

Re: WE LOOKED BETTER THAN EXPECTED, SOME BREAKOUT TALENT

It was fun watching Ward motion outside the wideouts to block for Montgomery, but other than that our fullbacks can't catch or hold onto the ball. Not that we used that capability (Hewitt) when we had it anyway.

I love the speed that is all over the field for Stanford, but I'm curious/worried to see how much slower everyone looks against the Trojans' horses.

My biggest knock on Hogan is that I still feel like I'm on an adventure ride whenever he drops back to throw. I'm never sure what we're going to get. But he's still a gamer and entertaining as hell, which is important to me, since I still pay for the damn tickets.

I am also starting a collection to buy RJ heel lifts so he doesn't look so short next to Lombo in the post game show.
