Almost, but didn't. Give him some credit. Takes guts to keep putting yourself out there. Hopefully something he will build on.

Actually, more happy for Coach Shaw

The kid came through but Shaw finally told him to snap out of it.  Very DOC-esque thing to do.

Now we got to beat the Bruins twice.  It would be great irony if we ended up playing either Ohio State or even the Domers in Pasadena come January.  Life is good.

OUR BLOOD HIS GUTS. HE STILL OWES THE PROGRAM BIG TIME. I WON'T TRUST HIM UNTIL HE WINS THE ROSE BOWL FOR US. PRACTICE PERFORMANCE FOR HIM AND NUNES HAS BEEN SHAW'S BIGGEST FAILURE IN JUDGEMENT THIS YEAR.

SENT HIM BACK OUT THERE. AND THE POST GAME COMMENTS BY SHAW ARE WHY WE AREN'T UNDEFEATED. PRACTICE? GMAFB.

If on the first dance your date throws up all over your suit, you don't keep dancing with her. You go to the wall and pick another girl to dance with.

USED ALL HIS MULLIGANS. HE MAY BE REAT ON THE RANGE, BUT THAT DOESNT WIN TOURNAMENTS

mfhog- Hilarious!

Doc- agree- too bad he took too long to recognize what he had in Hogan versus Nunes.
Also, agree that relationships with kickers are like dancing with the devil. Look at Akers this year.

Can't happen; OSU replaced $C in the time-out chair and are not allowed to the bowl party.

HEY DOC, SOMETIMES ITS OK JUST TO BE HAPPY.  THE KID MADE A KICK TO WIN A HUGE FOOTBALL GAME.  MAYBE THAT WILL HELP HIM MOVING FORWARD.

The Big Ten champion is locked into the Rose Bowl, aren't they?  If we win the PAC we'll be meeting them, and ND will be in the MNC if they beat the Trojans, or some other BCS bowl if not.

Yep..unless they make it to the NCG, which won't happen.  It's either Nebraska or Wisconsin.

Judas priest, you've hammered this kid over the last several months and then when he makes a kick to win a huge game you still can't give him credit.  Yeah he missed the Fiesta Bowl kick.  We get it.

Re: THE KICK WAS GOOD DOC YOU MEAN HE ACTUALLY DID THE ONLY

THING HE'S SUPPOSED TO DO? WOW, THATS A FICKIN' BREAKTHROUGH. IT AIN'T REDEMPTION, IT'S A STEP TOWARDS RESPECTABILITY.

How bout just celebrating that the kid made this one.  Maybe this will straighten him out a bit. He missed in the Fiesta.  I get it.  Nothing is ever going to change that.  **** redemption.  That ain't possible.  I'd just like a good kicker moving forward.  The kid is not without talent.  Maybe this clears his mind a bit.

TIME WILL TELL. I DON'T TRUST HIM OR SHAW IN THOSE SITUATIONS. IT'S GROUNDHOG DAY.

Re: THE KICK WAS GOOD DOC YOU MEAN HE ACTUALLY DID THE ONLY

Truth is, he did not have to face do or die pressure. He knew the defense would trot right back out & go another round if he missed. He made the kick, but he missed too many before & we don't have any idea how he will respond if they run him out there with the team down a point. The kid can kick, but he has to get his head straight. If this is a first step, or even a breakthrough, great. But no one knows, and if Shaw claims he does know, he is naive, foolish or lying.

In the meantime, it was enough to win an incredibly important game, and keep us on the road to the Rose Bowl. That is enough for this weekend.

DOC can't help it. In the pros kickers are barely tolerated.

John McKay said, "Kickers are like horse manure; they're all over the place." Think he said that when he coached the Bucs.

I reckon next time DOC shows mad love for a kicker will be the first time.

Ay any rate, the new toe shoes and the tai chi lessons seem to be working.

Two words for you two:

Steve Horowitz.

The Goat his soph year in several games.  Nails by the time he left Stanford.

Of course, he was a LB, so maybe Doc gives him an automatic pass.

WON'T NEED WILLIAMSON TO WIN THE ROSE BOWL

UCLA WILL BE FAR TOUGHER THAN ANY TEAM THE LAME-@$$ B1G SENDS OUT HERE.

WISCONSIN CAN ONLY RUN THE BALL.  MONTE BALL, MEET MESSRS SKOV, THOMAS, MURPHY, TARPLEY, LANCASTER, VAUGHTERS, ETC. ETC.

NEBRASKA - SAME DEAL.

MICHIGAN IS THE ONLY TEAM THAT COULD WIN THE B1G THAT HAS ANY KIND OF CHANCE TO MAKE THE GAME INTERESTING.

BUT WE GOTTA WIN 2 AGAINST THE BRUINS FIRST, AND ALTHOUGH I LIKE THE MATCHUP THEY ARE NO SLOUCH.

I'm afraid Williamson is going to be a little like Chuck Connors in "Branded".

He made the kick vs $C in '69. But Laz and Co. were faked out on an ensuing draw play on 4th and five costing Plunkett a second Rose bowl.
