Re: Emeritus.....
The air in Maples used to be charged. Palpable. Lute even reveled in it. It's gone.
The old Stadium was like an old pair of wool socks. Comfortable. The new is a great place to watch football but with a Disney "House of the Future 1956" coldness. There is zero emphasis on the past, a past that includes a Genius, THE football innovator, A two time Olympic decathlon champ, SI's one=time "Greatest College Player," a Heisman winner and an offense that between 1951 and the middle Eighties was one of the few that was pass first and though not always successful, was always exciting. There are way-backs that can be built on. NOT the whole campaign but a start.
I can't make BB any more after this year. I can't imagine not going to football (after 55 years) but in the long run without an atmosphere shift it will be like attending a weekly board meeting.
