It's Time! Alumni + Students = a powerful voice
I do think it's time to resurrect the fight; thanks for your post and your insight. It is so important for the alumni to come together to support a matter like this one. The high-ups in the Admin respect and listen to your voices. If you all (alumni) support this cause and if the students all support this, it's tough to say no. I can try to handle the latter of the two but it's up to you to cover the former. Mark my words, if the alumni stand behind this cause, I will work next year to ensure that our voices are heard.

What are you smoking? If 10% of alumni care about this issue I would be surprised. IT is Dead, Dead, Dead! As for students, the ones I've heard discuss it think it is some old alumni history exam. What evidence do you have from anywhere of enthusiasm off this limited board for this issue?

I'm smoking from the "Stanford is too good to be called the Cardinal" joint. I think a majority of the alumni still involved with Stanford athletcs would be interested in the Robber Barons. I could be very wrong but so could you. Same goes for the students: those I've talked to think that the Cardinal is an awful name. There is no to way to find out except to run along this path. And that's what I plan on going.
