JOHN KERRY, NICE JOB YOU P.O.S.

JOHN KERRY, NICE JOB YOU P.O.S.

So KERRY and OBAMA agree to give IRAN more time AND release $2.8B in funds they'd frozen, in addition to the $6B they aleady released during negotiations. The DEADLINE was tomorrow, BUT NOW THE IRANIANS KNOW THERE ARE NO DEADLINES.. THEN KERRY RELEASES AN INANE STATEMENT JUSTIFYING THIS BECAUSE OF ALL THEIR "PROGRESS"...This is insane, both Kerry and Obama are being punked by Iran as badly as Putin punked them in Syria, Ukraine, and now IRAQ too. These guys are completely incompetent appeasers. YOU DONT GIVE AWAY YOUR LEVERAGE, YOU INCREASE THE SANCTIONS, DONT RELEASE ANY MONEY, AND TELL THEM YOURE NOT GOING TO KEEP ISRAEL ON A SHORT LEASH ANYMORE. START BUILDING THE MISSILE SHIELD IN EASTERN EUROPE AROUND OUR NATO ALLIES AND TELL VLAD TO GFH. I CANT BELIEVE KERRY GETS PAID BY US, HE'S A WORTHLESS POS.

Maybe your angst stems from your belief that these guys really give a shite about our form of gov't, the American people and our national interests.

Not on the same page here, Doc. Iran is in a very interesting place these days. Hard nation to read.

I am certainly not taking the Israeli pitch for granted.

I'm not on any page but I would sure like to hear from someone who has some knowledgeable insights on foreign affairs. On the surface it appears this administration is out of their league when it comes to international events. As for that elitist nitwit Kerry I can only say thank god the US electorate briefly came to their senses and defeated his bid for the presidency.

Stop picking on my former Senator, the nation's most successful gigolo and a very funny guy.

He's shooting for a Nobel Peace Prize because all of the cool kids have one.

Iran keeps stretching out the clock...

and we're dumb enough to let them...

meanwhile... tick,  tick,  tick,  tick....

I'll believe they finally get to an agreement (and live by it) when I see it... but I'm not holding my breath

a related issue is that if we do put the screws to Putin on the shooting down of the Malaysia B-777 and his supporting the pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine, the rumored threat is he won't play ball on rolling back Iran's nuke development...

To me, these events have the feel of the Cuban missile crisis.  Unfortunately I don't see anyone in play on our side who is up to the challenge.

Re: Iran keeps stretching out the clock...

I don't know.

I'm hawkish enough I don't have to apologize for any attitude, and wouldn't even so. But Iran is far more factionalized than the old Soviet Union, and there have been far more dissonant notes in the last year. I'm not sure that any Administration, including the Bushes and Reagans, wouldn't play this the same way.

A confident administration would not have pushed the deadline after the election. Because if these guys thought good news was coming, you know they'd want it before you go to the polls.

Re: Iran keeps stretching out the clock...

I was imprecise.  I wasn't speaking exclusively of Iran, but instead the overall tenor of the US, Russia relationship.  They seem to be pushing the envelope in a bellicose and unilateral way.  The shoot down in Ukraine is the obvious and very public result.

Our 'Ghandi' like approach, some might consider our response the moral high ground, seems thoroughly ineffective as we make speeches, draw red lines and wait for their next endeavor; the Crimea, greater Ukraine, Iraq, Iran?  While we have acted as a part of a coalition, they act unilaterally.  It seems to me there is a basic question before the house; how will we, should we, react to the militaristic adventurism of our geopolitical adversaries?

Re: Iran keeps stretching out the clock...UNFORCED ERRORS,

TAKING OPTIONS OFF THE TABLE IN OUR INITIAL RESPONSES, BUILDING IN EXCUSES, NOT DEMANDING ACCOUNTABILITY AT DEADLINES, PROMISING "FLEXIBILITY"THIS IS BEYOND GHANDI, THIS IS APPEASEMENT AND MESSAGED INCOMPETENCY IF NOT COWARDICE. OUR CREDIBLE THREAT BANK AS BEEN SPENT BY THIS PU*SY IN CHIEF. AND HIS FECKLESS POSTURING SECSTATES, BOTH CLINTON AND SWIFTBOAT. ANNOUNCE WE ARE REBUILDING THE MISSILE SHIELD TOMORROW.. START THE ECONOMIC NUTCUTTING WITH RENEWED VIGOR. STATE OUR UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT OF ISRAEL AS LONG AS HAMAS IS PART OF THE GOVERNMENT AND AS LONG AS ANY ROCKETS FLY IN FROM THE WEST BANK. ARM THE UKRAINE, DONT SEND THEM TV TRAYS. OBAMA HAS NEVER FOUGHT A BULLY, HES ALWAYS HAD PROXIES.

Re: Iran keeps stretching out the clock...

I agree with the general tenor of that post - although, militarily, there couldn't be much done in that part of the world.

Iran is a rather special case, though.

Re: Iran keeps stretching out the clock...OBAMA WOULDNT EVEN

SUPPORT THE IRANIAN REVOLUTION WHEN THEY SHOT DOWN THE WOMAN IN THE STREET. IRAN ISNT SPECIAL, ITS AN EVIL EMPIRE THAT NEEDS TO BE CRUSHED OR BROKEN BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY BEFORE THEY GET THE BOMB. SO YOU EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THEIR SO SPECIAL AND WHAT YOUR APPROACH WOULD BE, BECAUSE THE CLOCK IS TICKING ON THE WORLD AS YOU KNOW IT...

Re: Iran keeps stretching out the clock...OBAMA WOULDNT EVEN

Nope.

There are all kinds of threads in the Iranian fabric, always have been. Not at all like the Soviet monster, or even the Iraqi monster.

The dilemma is that if you are absolutely intransigent, you kill the moderates dead. Which is not what you want to do.

All kinds of ways to play the game.

GEORGE WILL SUGGESTS CONTAINMENT AS THE END GAME. I'M NOT SURE ISRAEL CAN ACCEPT THAT, AND I DONT BLAME THEM. YOU KEEP TELLING ABOUT ALL THESE THREADS, WEAVE THEM INTO SOMETHING.

Re: Iran keeps stretching out the clock...OK SMART GUY NAME SOME

click on this - and don't say this is a cunning strategy - anti-Semitism has never been central in the Iranian culture - much less than Russia, for example. Turn off the caplocks and think for a change.

And this. As the article notes, not the end of the world, but interesting . . .

Finally, while we are on the subject of racial prejudice and demonization, let us not forget how many Israeli politicians are committed to their own brand. Here's a little link to the ideas of the deputy speaker of the Knesset, Moshe Feiglin, for a Final Solution to Gaza that would provide Israel with a little Lebensraum - and, yeah, I mean those references to be exactly what they are, as offensive as are Feiglin's ideas . . .

Israel is not without sin here - and IT is the nuclear power . . .
