INTERESTING TAKE, BUT WHAT'S THE TAKEAWAY? BLAME GWB?

There's leadership, and there's President Obama.

What apologetics,

Bush's administration was defined by response to 9-11, which began during the Clinton years. He left behind him a stable Iraq, and a wave of optimistic moderate Muslim movements b- all of which have bean abysmally mismanaged by Obama.

And the root of the financial crisis also go back to the 90s.

No President starts off with s clean slate. History never ends. The closest was Clinton.

My mother used to tell me, "Elwood, in this world, you must be oh, so smart or oh, so nice."  For years I was smart.  I recommend nice.  You may quote me. - Elwood P. Dowd

It's all horsesxxt but my favorite was

"But it's hard to think of any second-term president in the past century, at least, who's been so completely consumed by issues he inherited."

What a tasty-sweet sentence.  Perfectly structured to deflect blame from Obama's failings and cast blame on a President who hasn't seen the inside of the WH in years.

George W. Bush was Walt Harris, and Obama is some yet-to-be-completely-resolved cross between Buddy Teevens, Tyrone Willingham and David Shaw.

Our next president needs to be a Jim Harbaugh.

Except for Leland's.  And that was  the only thigh that mattered!

Met Teevens a couple af times. Once at an Alumni / Buck Club event in Marin. IIRC.

As clueless in his own way as Robin Mamlet.

For both, damaging Stanford is their legacy.
