Explain why admissions told Jontrey they hadn't reviewed his file after the coaches told him he was denied and then was told two days later to go by whatever the coaches said?

It's SO MUCH MORE than just GPA and SAT/ACT.    So.  Much.   More.

But that's been explained and explained and explained.

You accept everything that could be viewed as negative toward Stanford as fact.

You reject anything and everything that could explain things.

That's your right.   But you don't have the right to keep demanding an explanation when it's already been given to you time after time after time.

No.   Tillman would not have gotten in if his last name was Sanders.

FACT:  Barry Sanders took the SAT/ACT 7, count 'em SEVEN different times trying to improve his chances of getting in.    

FACT:   Do you know if Tillman took a single AP or Honors class?   Nope.    So, IF Tillman had a 4.0 but without taking any AP or Honors classes,  that's still a possible red flag.

FACT:   Do you know if Tillman did a good job on his essays?    Nope.

FACT:   Do you know what the letters of recommendation for Tillman were like?    Nope.

FACT:   We wanted Tillman.   Tillman and Gray (another fast WR who didn't get admitted)  were the fastest players in this class.     If you know ANYTHING at all about Stanford you know we have trouble getting any kind of real speed enrolled.    Those two kids were the fastest in our class -- neither got admitted.   Neither did the fast and athletic Ifeadi Odenigbo, a freakish OLB who we desperately wanted and wound up at Northwestern.

Stanford does NOT get everyone it wants.    Period.     We lose great kids every year.
