Re: NU vs. Duke

Cats win, ugly but win. The D seems to have come of age in the second half. We are 2-0 for the first time in ages.

Now come the Dukies. They played Virginia tough. They have also marked this game as a win. But they are.....as some say....well Duke

Cats may not have Sutton. Simpson was hurt too. Will they be able to regroup and play a more consistent game, and win more handily as they tune up for the Big Ten? Vote and talk about it.

Re: NU vs. Duke

Hey Cats, Blue Devil fan here (yes, we do exist). I wanted to drop by your board and see what's going on. What sort of game can we expect?

Our fans are predictably frustrated. We feel like the talent level has risen dramatically since Roof has taken over, but we're just not prepared. We consistently kill ourselves with foolish penalties and our kicking game is abysmal. We do, however, have some playmakers and I think we have a shot against you guys - but I can't bring myself to predict a W against anybody at this point. There is even a rumor that our coach is going to be fired tomorrow, so who knows what you guys will see.

Anyway, good luck with your season and here's to a competitive game with no injuries.

Re: NU vs. Duke

Welcome, Blue Devil. I'd like to wish you the best season in decades after losing to NU.

I expect the betting line to open at 10 for NU and to grow some from there.

NU is in a growth phase, and I expect a good fight on the field. Anything can happen. NU is notorious for playing to the level of the competition.

NIght game in Evanston? Students Back?

This one should be really good for the Wildcats.

Only the Duke defense could be a fly in the ointment, but after last Saturday?

I agree Roy, I believe any spirit our D may have had is probably gone after the UVA game. Our O just keeps shooting itself in not only the foot but also the leg and apparently the face because we have no clue whats going on. Its tough being a Devils fan, but we will get better. I think our biggest problem lies in game preparation by the coaches. I think our players seem confused about opponents and there is no one to blame but the coaches on that one. I look forward to the meeting, hopefully it will be played with class and nobody gets hurt. Northwestern fans are some of the classiest that I've met and I'm sure any of our supporters that travel will be treated well by you guys. Best of luck Wildcats, and heres to a great season for yall.

For the record, I think Coach Fitz will take yall to new heights once he gets established, yall are a fun football team to watch.
