A fond farewell to Northwestern

A fond farewell to Northwestern

Thank you to all who have made my two and a half years with PurpleWildcats so incredibly enjoyable. I have accepted a new role with FOX Sports, and will be relocating to cover Purdue beginning next week. I will still be around with this site, so this isn't a true goodbye, but my time in Evanston will be over.

To say this will be difficult for me is quite the understatement. I'm a Chicago native and the Northwestern community has become a family for me. But this is a career decision I couldn't pass on.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all who have devoted themselves to making this site so great. An announcement on the new publisher will be made very soon, and I promise you will not be disappointed. The hard work poured into this site will only continue, and you will still receive the best Northwestern coverage on the web.

Best of luck.  You did an outstanding job and I can only hope your replacement is half as good.

Trust me: we've got plans for great coverage to come on this site. It'll be made official very soon.

One of the hardest parts of this transition for me is saying goodbye to all of you. I'm thrilled FOX let me be an important part of picking a replacement, and the network remains committed to bringing excellent Northwestern coverage.

I guess you did a good job.  I don't know though.

Bye Chris.

Wow.

I'm pretty disappointed to hear this, given what you have done for this site. Your successor, whoever it may be, will be hard pressed to maintain what you've built.

But, I guess a career move is a career move. So best of luck, and really impressed with how you raised this site from the dead.

Means a lot coming from you, EC. You were one of the first users I got to know on these forums. Thank you for your loyalty to this site and to me.

Chris, I do wish we had met at a game the past few years.  We would have had a good laugh or two over the Turk situation.  I hope you got a chance to meet Turk and MidvaleDave, anyway.  I hope you let Scout know that Turk is not guilty of sabotaging the board and upsetting David Vranicar, The Carpetbagger.

Midvale tried -- unsuccessfully, I should add -- to feed me beers before each home game I covered. I also have gotten to know Turk very well, too. They spoke highly of you (I'm serious!), but I'm sure I'll see you around at a game in the future.

Really disappointed to see you go. You certainly outhustled everyone in your peer group in terms of content. You took an absolutely dead site and gave it a little life. And it was too bad many were so entrenched in TOS to see it. I can't tell you how many times you broke a recruiting story and it was reported on WR as "TOS reports new commitment".

Like I said, you will be missed. Good luck and hope to see you traveling for the Purdue/NU matchups!

Good luck, Chris!

Chris, your moving on is a loss for the NU community. Your hard work coving everything Wildcat's was a real plus but best of luck in your new career move.

Chris, thanks for all you did to revive this site and bring competition to the boards. It's really nice to read different takes on things. I wish you the best down at Purdue and I'm glad I had the opportunity to introduce myself a few weeks back.  You will be missed.

Chris, it sucks to see you go, but congratulations. You did a wonderful job transforming how Northwestern fans got news. There was very little in terms of instant updates on Twitter before you started and you were the first to post video interviews in full. Your work has very much been appreciated and I'm sure Purdue fans will enjoy your work, as well.

After visiting the Purdue Scout site, I think I know why Chris is making the switch.

Anna Hickey>>>Nick Medline.  Sorry Nick.
