Re: Spring schedule, injury report

That's a LOONNNGGGG list of guys not participating, including some who could really have used the reps to compete for playing time (Frazier, Jorgensen, Scanlan, Schwaba, and Williams) and some who just need the reps for one reason or another (Gibson, Konopka, and Prater).

Hampton, Proby, and VanHoose are probably injury-related, but could also simply be because the coaches don't need to see anything out of them.

Any idea what's going on with these guys?

Sorry, but I don't buy that Fitz would let players out of Spring ball unless for serious injury or academic reasons.  He might pull his stars early from scrimmages but Spring ball is too important development-wise to miss otherwise.

Re: Spring schedule, injury report

Starting Spring Ball within 2 months from the final game of the season probably has something to do with it.  In my day, a lot of us would not have been ready to go after 2 months (i.e., minor knee/ankle/shoulder surgeries, nagging injuries that weren't allowed to heal during the season, etc).

I can't imagine starting Spring ball in February.  Brutal...

What's the story behind the early start this year? It is earlier than most years right?
