I was really upset after the PI on 3rd and17, but I realized that with the existing personnel its the best we can expect, by the end of the game I had flushed my disappointment, and refocused on MSU.

While I was despondent yesterday, I cannot help but think how close this team is to being very good. Like every one of Fitz's teams, we are improving as the season wears on. I loved his fourth down call to sustain our lasty drive and run the clock down. I will not say that we dominated the lines of scrimmage yesterday,we did not. But we more than held our own on the offensive and defensive lines and generally won the tight battles there against a solid Michigan team. We outgained the Wolverines and would have by a large margin but for the last 20 seconds and overtime. We have lost three extremely close games to three very good teams. Even the missed plays yesterday seemed less discouraging. A punter who is generally very reliable hits a bad punt. A young DB is in decent position in one-on-one coverage and makes a play on a ball a fraction too early. The only really bad play was the pass interference penalty that gave UM life when there was little enthusiasm among the blue and gold, but Dugar came back with a key interception. We are probably going to win 8 or 9 games with a chance to get to double digits in the bowl game. Not only that, but Syracuse and Vandy had big wins and BC lost to ND by about the same amount that it lost to us. We are having a good year with a young team that is battling hard in every game. I so much want these guys to win a big one this year, but maybe the bowl game will provide that.

Just awful.  I do not want to watch the replay on BTN.  It is so disappointing.  To be that excited when we thought we were 18 seconds away from a signature win in the BIG House to absolute shock is something you do not get over easily.  It is like a bad dream.

BUT I am looking forward to MSU and know that our players are looking to get the win in a big way and then take care of Illinois.

Agreed. I do not watch a TV or read a paper other than the Sunday Times,which barely covers sports, for 2-3 days. When we win I watch every game and highlight show I can - usually smiling through several beers.
