Big Ten 4-stars
In looking at the commitment lists of other Big Ten schools (Iowa, Illinois, Purdue, Minnesota, Wisconsin), I am struck by how many 4-star players are receiving very few offers. In many cases, the highest-ranked recruits have fewer offers than many of the three-star and some of the two-star recruits. Clearly coaches are viewing players differently than recruiting services, but I thought the offers received by a recruit were a factor in his ranking. Interesting.

Glades, of course, would say, "told you so." But Fitz also eschews the stars. He likes to evaluate people directly. Based on the people we have and how they're doing, he clearly is picking good ones.

I might add a resounding "so?"
Every coaching staff does its own evaluation of prospects. So-called "list recruiters" who do not are not long for the business.

Re: Big Ten 4-stars
Good point.
I do think Fitz seems to be doing unusually well at identifying the "right" players for NU though.

Re: Big Ten 4-stars
I think 4 stars are being offered by a few and committing earlier. Matt Alviti could have attracted more offers, but chose to commit early. I'm guessing that might be the reason.
