And with Alyssa Thomas on the bench with two fouls, MD pulls out to a 26-14 lead with about 5:20 left in first. State timeout. Shooting poorly and not getting back on defense.

M-GC for THREE...28-19. And Kody Burke recovered an offensive rebound. 28-21. Timeout Maryland.

State cuts it to 28-21 with 3:47 left. MGC with a 3 and Burke starting to get involved.

State playing with more intensity in a furious stretch. Going to the line for two shots after the media timeout...3 minutes left first half.

Nice language from Blondie there. State makes one of two FT. Maryland layup. 30-22.

And MD goes up by 10 again. State has no transition defense this game.

Weird stats for an 11-point game. State shooting 29%...Maryland 55%. Maryland leading fast-break points 12-0. State with 9 turnovers...Maryland 10. The difference is 3-point shooting for NCState and the fact Maryland did not go to the FT line in the first half.

This is so sad and even heartbreaking. I can't imagine what the players are feeling and what Harper is feeling.
65-39 with 10:59 left.

65-39 with 10:59 left. I hope the Harper's are feeling enough heat to go ahead and resign at season's end, thus saving any buyout $$$ for the university. This is absolutely pitiful.

65-39?
That's just unreal. I don't follow WBB much, but what happened? I recall the last couple of years, we seemed to not be THIS bad.

Don't see how she survives this.
I'm surprised it's this bad though.
Has she just quit trying, or has the talent diminished that badly on this year's team?

I doubt it, given that they have the one salary. A good reason while husband and wives should have diverse employment. EasternNCstyleBBQueWolf wrote:

We don't have but 2 or 3 players on the team who should even be trying to play on an ACC team. Their offensive skills are horrendous and they have a hard time protecting the ball. Our talent level gets worse and worse. A couple of players can't compete against 8 or 9 talented players as we are seeing tonight.

The athletic program is carrying a very large debt. I inherited the debt and we’ll work through it. $51.9 million as of January 18 which was the last update that I have and the Wolfpack Club is carrying $17.4. So even those that defended LF were wrong about what sort of a manager he was when it came to $.
How many times did we hear the NCSU admin is OK as long as they're in the black financially? That was a lie too? It makes sense, Pack sports sucked so how could they make much/any $? Hmm. Where have we heard that story before -- "I inherited a program that had a lot of debt." We ran NC State athletics on the cheap under Fowler. It was incredibly obvious. There was supposedly a rainy day fund that Deb burnt through pretty much right off the bat. Salaries have gone up and new positions have been created. By all accounts we're spending more money. Something smells fishy here. We'd better hope someone is auditing this closely or we could be in big trouble. If that's our debt load, we've got no business spending $250k on a buy out for a non-revenue sport. Hell, we should be doing everything possible to find Bible a new gig.
