That-- and Pack has missed five shots at the rim.

ok how incredibly stupid can our players be.....we need points in a hurry....you know they are gonna let you drive to get a two pointer gheesh.....they dont care. We cannot finish simple layups and we miss too many crucial free throws. We play so dumb sometimes it baffles me.

No embarrassment tonight. It was a great effort. Unfortunately, we lack some needed offensive skills, particularly around the basket. They killed us with their offensive rebounds, too. I thought we did as well as we could defensively. We played them closer than anyone else this season. BTW, see what I was talking about with Breezy and turnovers?

Yes, great, great effort. Moral victories don't count, of course, but maybe it will help give them cohesiveness moving forward.

This was not nearly the outcome I thought.... OK 50% of the outcome I thought. I thought we would lose (and we did).... I thought we would get blown out of the gym (we didn't). Good job by the team keeping this closer that I would imagine most would have thought it would be.

The NC State women's basketball team put forth one of its best defensive efforts of the season, but the third-ranked Duke Blue Devils prevailed with a 67-57 ACC victory Thursday evening in Reynolds Coliseum. www.gopack.com/sports/w-baskbl.../010313aaa.htmlNC State will return to action on Sunday, Jan. 6 when the team makes a short trip west to Winston-Salem, N.C., to take on Wake Forest. Opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m.
football record prediction (2010) 3-9, 1-7 (2011) 5-7, 2-6 (2012) 7-5, 4-4 MBB prediction: (2010-11) 21-9, 10-6 (2011-12) 19-12, 7-9 (2012-13) 24-7, 12-6

DW Hoop's write up on the game: Devils Escape NC State Indy Weekly write up: Wolfpack battles hard before Duke pulls out tough road win State coach Kellie Harper: “I’m really proud of our kids, with their intensity and their fight. Duke is a really good basketball team, but we’ll try again next time. I think we have a chance to beat any team in our league playing like this.” What's quite amazing is that State shot only 32 percent from the floor, and they still had a chance to win. I hope this is the State team that we see the rest of the season. I know consistency was the big word for the team this year, and maybe they can find really find that now. It's when I see State pull off a performance like last night that I'm reminded why I believed Harper could take the program to a higher level. It may be too late now. Who knows. The Wake Forest game Sunday may tell us how much the team has grown.

They also did a pretty good job against the press and cut down on the unforced errors. I don't know it the concentration on defending shots put them at a disadvantage in rebounding or not, but it's hard to do both against Duke. If we can build on what we gained in this game, we could win the majority of the remaining games.

RE: WBB 2012-13: (8-6, 0-2) 1/3 L to Duke 57-67
State fought very hard the whole game. It was a fun game to watch. The dukie fans there were louder than usual.
Duke did not look at all like a number 3 ranked team. They could not hit any better from the outside than we could.
People in the stands around me were wondering why Brown or Kastanek were not running the point more as they are difference makers. Brown really continues to improve. If Coach is let go then I bet these decisions are part of why.
Again we were so scrappy and did not let up. Duke seemed a little suprised by the guts shown by our team. If we had of hit our easy layups chances and hit more foul shots we would have beat them.
We scared em but another L it is. Next home game is next Thursday against the holes.

Good effort by the ladies, but came up a little short. First game I have really watched a lot of this year and I thought by now we would have more talent on hand. Are there any major injuries this year as I have not followed a lot?
I have faith in Kellie Harper but she has got to do something soon or she will be history too. I am not saying they should have beaten Duke, but we are going to have to win some games this year if she is to stay.
BEING AN N C STATE FAN BUILDS GREAT CHARACTER
