There are an awful lot of Pack fans who love WBB at NCSU! Frankly, it can be as entertaining as the mens...and especially was during the recent past until Gottfried showed up and the mens programs has risen as it seems from the ashes. IF you didn't go to a game coached by the legendary Coach Yow....you missed out big time.

Miami played yesterday:
Final Score Rutgers 42 Miami 34
34 points in an entire game! That should help the reputation of WBB.

Bump for game day. State opens up ACC play at Miami at 7 p.m. The Wolfpack looks to open conference play with a victory for the first time since 2010 when Kellie Harper's inaugural ACC tilt wound up a victorious one over Maryland.http://www.gopack.com/sports/w-baskbl/spec-rel/121 912aaa.html

RE: WBB 2012-13: (7-4) 12/20 @ Miami 7pm
Looking at remaining schedule and results thus far, hard to see how this team will do much better than 5-13 in the ACC. We play the four ranked teams 6 times and near top 25 Miami two more times, so there's no more than one or two wins among those 8 games. Assuming a charitable two upsets against the ACC's top 5, and split the rest, that's still at best 7-11 in a best case scenario, and like TOB, Harper seems to suffer from the inexplicable WTF loss against an inferior opponent a couple of times every year.
There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which can not fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance-that principle is contempt prior to investigation. --HERBERT SPENCER

Both coaches have relied on overachievement from lesser talent than most of their conference counterparts. When solid overachievement occurs, you get an upset win. But like most teams of any talent level, there are going to be off days and when the lesser talent has that kind of day, we call it a WTF loss. Odds improve when the talent improves. I agree with your conference prediction.

RE: WBB 2012-13: (7-4) 12/20 @ Miami 7pm
ACC Women's Basketball Digest on the Miami/NC State game: This could be a very interesting game. NC State is the kind of opponent that Miami needs to beat in order to make it back to the NCAA tournament. That's especially true since the game is in Coral Gables. The Wolfpack certainly have the talent to beat the Canes, not to mention the size. This game will come down to NC State's ability to defend Miami's quicker guards. In their weekly digest, they also had this blurb on the Pack: Trending Up: NC State. The Wolfpack Women needed a definitive win against a Presbyterian team that's won five games against a brutal schedule, and they got it. NC State won by 46 points and looked good in all phases of the game: offense, defense, rebounding, pressuring the ball, valuing the ball, etc. As a bonus, Kiana Evans returned from injury to help bolster an already-solid frontcourt. The best part of the win, as coach Kellie Harper noted, was that her team played with energy. State has plenty of talent, but their energy, focus and enthusiasm seems to lag for extended periods of time. If they want a chance at postseason play, they have to play all-out every night for the rest of the year.

I'm afraid that Coach Harper is next on DY's chopping block. It's a shame because most of us wanted her to be successful.
