I know you have to score a TD, but with Beast Mode and RW as your top options you'll more than likely punch it in from 2 yards out. Run a little clock. I thought the same thing, but in the NFL, no 2 yards is a given...and you simply have to try to score on every play. You also assume your defense isn't going to give up 30+ yards in 30 seconds.

Seahawks are ranked #1 in Total Defense. They didn't play like it for most of the game.

Don't forget, "Beast mode" fumbled on the goal line against the Redskins AND on that play, he just barely crossed the line. You can't take anything for granted. They had to go for it then and expect their defense could stop them with 34 seconds to go.

The last time was the Bears game, which was almost the exact same situation as yesterday. Luckily RW won that one in OT.

I too thought about the "maybe they should take time off the clock", but nah - too much wrong than can happen (e.g. Lynch's fumble last week - and TWO fumbles this week). At some point you have to rely on your D - they did, and they let them down. Funny thing is - Seattle did what everyone cries for teams to do on D when trying to protect a lead - they didn't go into "safe mode" and instead blitzed. Unfortunately the Falcons' O-line picked up the blitz perfectly on both plays, allowing Ryan plenty of time for his throws. Dang, what could have been. Still frustrated about it.

love to know why seahawks didn't kick the ground ball kick off to keep it out of rodgers' hands. bad decision imo.

RE: Russell Wilson Thread (12-6) season over
As a Falcon fan I was absolutely hating RW in the 4th quarter. I had all but washed my hands of him. Sorry, its team over any former NC State player. RW and seabirds will be back, again and a again. Great young team that had my Falcons beat. So happy for Matt Ryan and company. SF will be very tough.
NC State was created to correct the Chapel Hill mistake.

If your top defense can't hold them out of FG range with 30 seconds left you don't deserve to win. There was a lot of LOL coaching from both sides in that game though.

John Boyle @johnpboyle QB Russell Wilson wasn't in the locker room for cleanout b/c he was watching film. Seriously. #Seahawks

Felt good to actually beat Russell Wilson the way he ran over the Jackets in 2010.

Was watching the second half of the Falcons game last night on the DVR and when Russell scored his touchdown, he just tossed the ball to the ref and "acted like he had been there before" which is how he always carries himself.
