OK, I overstepped on the Hess part.

RE: Russell Wilson Thread (11-5) 1/6 @ Redskins 4:30pm

I can't believe they did not go to Cousins earlier in the game. RG3 has been limping since the 1st quarter - I was worried about a season ending hit the whole time.

If they had started Cousins for the 2nd half when they still had a lead - then he would have had a much better chance - and RG III would have had a whole week to heal up.

I hope he comes back full strength next year.

I also would be pissed if Washington wins at this point after the awful lack of an interference call on 3rd and goal - should have been 1st and goal at the one for the seahawks.

I wish RGIII was still in the game.  Cousins has me a little nervous.  Seattle needs to keep scoring.

I had a cheap Curt Warner helmet/jersey combo when I was like 8 or 10. I plan to use that as my reason that I'm not just on the Wilson train here.

RE: Russell Wilson Thread (12-5) 1/13 @ Falcons 1pm

I thought RGIII had the edge over Luck with RW in 3rd for Rookie of the Year before this weekend. I think Luck's team just got out-played, but RGIII literally hurt his team by trying to gut it out for too long, ending with him being hurt worse(hopefully nothing significant). If Seattle manages to somehow beat Atlanta, then I'd definitely change my vote to RW.

Wilson not only threw a TD today, had great rushing yards, and then threw a pretty good block to help Lynch score.

My brother wore an ancient Vikings toboggan when we were kids.  He loved Tarkington.  I think Wilson is more efficient than Tarkington in that he looks like he's gliding yet he's zipping past people.  It's early but my goodness, his leadership and sense of team (always downfield blocking) are amazing.

Well let me try this again.

Russell played like he always does.  With poise, patience, and positivity.  He let the game come to him, made some nice runs and some good throws and lead his team like he always has.  He got out and blocked for Lynch twice, including the touchdown run.  Not a great block but enough to allow Lynch to score.  The kid can flat out play.

Here is a column from the AP talking about how Russell stood tall and is now the only rookie QB remaining.

Yup, how much you wanna bet the endorsements are gonna start coming in now?  Also, it's too bad they don't wait til after the playoffs are over to give out some of those awards.

I think we can all agree that Wilson cares nothing about the ROY compared to getting more wins.

Fran scambled more, a lot more.  He made it to 3 Super Bowls - lost all 3.   He held a lot of records, but I bet he'd trade they all for a Super Bowl ring.

He also answered to "Tarkenton".

But, after checking the stats, it's false to say that Tarkenton scrambled more.  Wilson had 94 attempts this season for 489 yards.  Tarkenton never had more than 62 attempts and never had more than 376 yards.

Tarkenton played less games and lots of times he didn't scramble to run, he scrambled until he could pass.  You would have to look at pass attempts and sacks(which they didn't keep back then) to get a true picture.
