Russ and the Hawks about to cash in! He's 15-19 250 yds 1 TD and 58 yds rushing.

Bummer. I was wanting Russell to throw a TD pass to break the record.

There's 1:39 left.   Pete Carroll may on-side kick to give Wilson another shot at breaking the record.

Could see OT. Big penalty on the Hawks to start the drive for the Rams

Go Skins! Though how sweet would it be to watch Russell knock out the Cowgirls? Still, can't take that risk...go Skins!

Good second half. Seahawks figured out their protections. I'd say the only chink in the seahawk armor is the pass rush. They still managed to have a great defense without a high level pass rush, though. If they play Rg3, that's gonna be a problem most likely.

Will get Browner back for playoffs which will help. I agree about their pass rush though.

The Rams were a tough out today, but Russell had another fine game. His team didn't help a lot with all of those dumb penalties.

Another solid win for Seahawks.  Playoffs should be really good this year.  Would like to see a Seahawks/Broncos SB.

Glad Russell at least tied the record and wish he would have broken it.

I had no doubts that at some time this season Russell would be the starting QB for the Seahawks.  He won the job early and never looked back.  The Seahawks now have their QB for the next 10-12 years providing he stays healthy.

Well done Russell!!  His success does not surprise me at all.

Russell was awarded the Steve Largent Award yesterday by Seahawks. Nice honor to win, especially as a rookie.

Re: Russell Wilson Thread (11-5) 1/6 @ Redskins 4:30pm

I'm picking the Seahawks to beat the Redskins.  Here's my reason why.  Last night, Shannahan and Son made the Cowboys defense look amateurish because Ryan couldn't defend the read-option or option-read, whatever it's called.  Demarcus Ware and company looked absolutely lost last night.

Pete Carroll have the experience to devise a plan to defend the offense the Redskins run and his defense is quicker and better tacklers than the Cowboys.  No way they let a one-legged RGIII beat them

The award is given to the player who best exemplifies the spirit, dedication and integrity of the Seahawks.

Congrats to Russell on this award.  I have a feeling we may be seeing his name on it many times in the future.  Russell just seems to be a great young man in all aspects of life.  They may have to rename it the Steve Largent-Russell Wilson award.wink

Mack Strong won the award 5 times in 6 years during his 15 year Seahawk career. He, so far, is only Seahawk player to receive the award more than once.

The Mack Strong TEAM-WORKS Foundation was founded in 2002 by retired professional football player Mack Strong and his wife Zoë Higheagle Strong, a Nez Perce Tribal member.

Russell will need some time to get to what Mack Strong has done, but it would not surprise me to see his name on the award like 7 of the next 10 years.  That too would be a STRONG SHOWING.wink

RE: Russell Wilson Thread (11-5) 1/6 @ Redskins 4:30pm

I was thinking in the shower this morning that Seahawks did well against other NFC teams in playoffs

beat Packers in week 3, the replacement ref game, but still won
beat Vikings in 9
split with 49ers, lost in week 7 in San Francisco, won in week 16 in Seattle
did not play Falcons or Redskins

AFC
beat Patriots in week 6

I was wondering how many rookie QBs made the Super Bowl
google search has mixed results depending how to view Warner with Rams, it was his rookie season in NFL, but he was on practice squad and in Arena League and NFL Europe, so I think he really does not count

I thought Dan Marino was in Super Bowl as rookie QB, but that was his second year

I have this feeling Seahawks will put 40+ on the board, can the Redskins match them?

football record prediction (2010) 3-9, 1-7 (2011) 5-7, 2-6 (2012) 7-5, 4-4

Nice article there Wlfpk1.  Check your inbox

Some monster stats by Russell in high school.

"During the two seasons Wilson was named The Times-Dispatch’s player of the year, he threw for 6,291 yards, 73 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He rushed for 1,786 yards and 32 TDs."
