I missed that.  They showed our block S while talking about RW?   Cool.
I liked the way that Al Michaels explained the situation.  Said RW was awesome at NCSU, set the record for most passes without a int at NCSU, yadda yadda, and that RW then tried minor league baseball.  He still had a year of eligibility when baseball was over so he went to Whisky for his final and memorable season.

I will also say Collingsworth didn't do all of his homework.  He's praising RW for the read option they're running and said he had never done that before. Well, he didn't check out his NCSU film I'm guessing...

Sounds like Michaels did a good and fair job with that.

Did Wilson run any read option in college?  For some reason I'm not remembering that.
Russell did some read option out of the shotgun at State.

Well then Collingsworth is a dunce!

Seattle looks like a legit Super Bowl team right now. They are on fire.

I've seen enough flaws out of the rest of the NFC's best to believe that the Seahawks have as good a shot as anybody right now.

Seahawks have a running joke where they bust on Wilson for wearing Joseph a bank suits rather than custom-made ones. Pretty funny

I just saw where RW's uniform from Week 15 is in the NFL Hall of Fame. He became the first player ever to rush for 3 TDs and throw for 1TD in the first half of a game.

Update: he needs 2 TD passes to break Peyton Manning's rookie passing TD record.

Rams come to Seattle.  I hope they let Russell throw it every trip to the endzone.

Ehhhh they just aren't the same team on the road. Most likely they'll have to go to Atlanta in the 2nd round, and they are 0-3 in dome games this year, all on the road. I'd have a hard time seeing them win back to back to back games on the road to make a SB.

With that being said they can still nab the #3 and even #2 seed with a little fortune. Would be something if they got the #2 seed over GB because of that head to head game.

Not related to Russell Wilson directly, but Richard Sherman won his PED appeal.  Similar to the way that Braun won his appeal against MLB.  SO, that means that Browner will be available next week (if necessary) to play along side Sherman.

DeCock: O'Brien's QB experiment yields varied results

The only sour note in his post-N.C. State career came last weekend, when he was forced to nail down his college choice for NBC’s introductions. His declaration, “from a whole Pack of Badgers,” offended, and satisfied, no one.
While I agree with the article in general, I disagree with this. I was delighted.

They have won 3 road games this year.  They have won there last 2 road games.  People keep throwing out that "bad on the road line" without seeing that it has changed.  They were bad on the road early on when they had the training wheels on Russell.  Since they took them off they have been a different team.

Winning 2 road games in a row doesn't change the bigger picture of an entire season of road games. I'm not impressed by beating the Bills on the road. Winning in Chicago is nice but lets be honest, that's a reeling Bears team playing awful football right now. It really has nothing to do with taking the training wheels off they were already a solid team regardless. 5 of their first 8 games were on the road this year and they went 1-4, they've gone 2-1 on the road since for a 3-5 record. This team isn't the same without the 12th man in their back pocket everyone know that. It's not saying they are a bad football team, but they are very beatable away from home. 0-3 on the road in dome games doesn't look good either. They'd like to avoid teams like Dallas and Atlanta if that trend holds true.

Re: Russell Wilson Thread (10-5) 12/30 vs Rams

Is this better? The odds of them winning on the road are way lower than the odds of them winning at home. If they don't get the 3 seed or better today their upside in the playoffs IMO is 1 road playoff win at best and then they are done. Lets not forget the playoffs are a different animal. Expecting rookies to come in and be successful right off the bat is a tall order.

Dan Marino, Bernie Kosar, Jim Everett, Todd Marinovich, Shaun King, Ben Roethlisberger, Joe FlaccoMatt RyanMark Sanchez and Andy Dalton are the only rookie quarterbacks since the NFL-AFL merger to take their teams to the playoffs. Their combined playoff record is 6-10, with a total of 15 touchdown passes and 26 interceptions and an average of 16 points a game. None of the rookies reached the Super Bowl, though four (King, Roethlisberger, Flacco and Sanchez) got their teams as far as the conference championship game. The other five rookie signal-callers all lost in the opening round. Take a look at the 4 rookies that did make a deep run into the playoffs and you'll notice all of those QB's had very strong defenses so Wilson does have that working in his favor, but the playoffs overall have not been kind to first year signal callers.

Have you looked at who the Bears lost to - all playoff teams, if The Vikings make it. And except for SF, within one score.

And the Bears have beat no one so what exactly is your point? Their offense with Mike Tice is complete crap and their OL is utter garbage. Their defense was playing way over their expected value the first half of the season out scoring their own offense, and that kind of pace which was impossible to keep up eventually evened out and what you get is the blah football team the Bears are heading into the last week of the season.

Most teams do better at home than on the road. However, the Seahawks have the NFL's best defense (IMO) and an offense that defenses can't figure out right now. They are also peaking at the perfect time. They will likely play the role of spoiler this year but it wouldn't surprise me if they did make it to the Super Bowl.

They can still get the 2 or 3 seed, that wouldn't be playing the role of spoiler at that point, it would flip the script and it'd turn into expectations of winning with a home game. And I hope you guys don't think I'm dogging the Seahawks I'm not. I liked them before Russ came along. I'm a fan of Carroll's happy go lucky attitude and Marshawn Lynch has been one of my favorite RB's in the league since he was a Buffalo Bill.

I am in no way making a prediction that they will make it to the super bowl.  My only point was that the axiom that the Hawks can't win on the road is no longer accurate.

Up 3 in the 3rd quarter and right after a TD, Seattle tries a trick onsides kick and fails. St. Louis drives and ties it up with a field goal. 13 all.
