Once again, classic Russell with that dodge.

Did they steal it from ECU too?

I highly doubt he got a new contract that quickly.  Usually due to salary issues, he's stuck for atleast this year until the offseason.

It's going to Luck I'm afraid.  I love RW, but with the turn around the Colts have had and with Luck beating out Newton's rookie record today I'm afraid he won't get it.

Hell, I bet if they score another TD Carol will go for 2 to get 50 for a third game in a row.... and rub it in Harbaugh's face a little.

RE: Russell Wilson Thread (9-5) 12/23 SNF vs 49ers

Great game by Russell and the Seahawks.  The young man showed what he has always had since his freshmen year at State.  Poise under pressure.  He makes everybody around him better and is quite the leader.

With their defense, the Seahawks might be a legitimate contender for the Super Bowl.  I don't think the moment of the playoffs will be too big for Russell.  It might be for some other guys, but Russell will be ready to go.

Russell and Philip are both great reps of N. C. State and great NFL Quarterbacks.  Russell is able to make and extend plays with his feet whereas Philip is not.  You give either one the time they need and they will make you pay.  If the Chargers can get their offensive line back to giving Rivers just moderate protection, he will again be one of the best in the NFL.  Russell could be a great QB for a long time if he is healthy.

Russell's money is coming.  Maybe not this offseason, but I would bet the Seahawks will want to sign him long term and renegotiate.

Re: Russell Wilson Thread (9-5) 12/23 SNF vs 49ers

RW continues to amaze me, and I got into arguements bragging about how I thought how well he would do. I even thought he would beat out Matt Flynn, who they just aquired and spent a lot of money for.  His maturity level is incredible for a rookie. He very seldom gets hit hard. Such a crafty runner, lacking the full out speed of RG3.  Standing actually around 5'10" you wonder how he can see the field so well. The guy, most definitely should be considered heavily for ROY. Does he have any great recievers?  Good ones? A few. Of course in Seattle they do have that 12th man. Wow, what a loud crowd.  Go RW, I for one, are rooting for you, and  I'm a Colt fan.  Yes, I think Luck, has done miracles for the Colts this year, considering how bad they were last year, and how young they are now. RG3 also has been awesome, but Wilson??? He's right there!!  Rivers?  really enjoyed his play at State, and had several great years with SD. Rivers has also had some pretty nasty injuries. PR's chances of getting a Super Bowl ring are certainly dwindling, if not dead. As SD appears to have too many problems. Possibly a change of scenery. Wouldn't surprise me to see Rivers on the move.

Re: Russell Wilson Thread (10-5) 12/30 vs Rams

ESPN and the major media markets annointed Luck and RGIII as the rookie QB sensations ... Wilson was never and will never be on their radar. They view him as some kind of "5'10" anomaly to what an NFL QB is suppose to be. Wilson's numbers strongly suggest he is the ROY.

Congrats to Russell for a fantastic year! May those successes continue into the playoffs.

I missed that.  They showed our block S while talking about RW?   Cool.
I liked the way that Al Michaels explained the situation.  Said RW was awesome at NCSU, set the record for most passes without a int at NCSU, yadda yadda, and that RW then tried minor league baseball.  He still had a year of eligibility when baseball was over so he went to Whisky for his final and memorable season.

I will also say Collingsworth didn't do all of his homework.  He's praising RW for the read option they're running and said he had never done that before. Well, he didn't check out his NCSU film I'm guessing...

Sounds like Michaels did a good and fair job with that.

Did Wilson run any read option in college?  For some reason I'm not remembering that.
