Re: 2012 Carolina Panthers Thread (4-9) 12/16 @ Chargers

As a 16 year PSL owner, I had given up on this season a long time ago. But this is the one game that had to be won. Falcons fans are the worst and I absolutely cannot abide them. The whole Matt Ryan crap didn't help. When I heard Greg Hardy had shot his mouth off at them before the game my reaction was "good, maybe if they have to back it up they'll get fired up for a full 60 minutes". And it seemed to work. They hit Ryan on every single pass play, whether they sacked him or not. Including a brutal hit on the first series that set the tone. If only they could get that fired up for the other 14 games.

Very satisfying when the Panthers fans were chanting "85 south" as all the Falcons fans were leaving. Some of them started shouting "we're going to the playoffs" and everybody laughed at them with "you guys never win playoff games" and "Matty Ice melts in January" and "when was the last time the Falcons won a playoff game?".

Sometimes something so juvenile can be so satisfying.

Matt, get the **** off my field.

I loathe the Falcons since the early days when it seemed like the one team the Panthers could hardly ever beat.

Yesterday was a good day.

Sure wish the Panthers and Chargers game was in Charlotte, pretty sure the last 2-3 times they have played while Philip has been the starting QB it has been in San Diego.

I'm not a Panthers fan, don't even know how Ryan dissed Cam or the Panthers, but read an article last week stating that Cam earned the ire of many players at the Pro Bowl.  Supposedly even told one player he'd have to pay for the player's son to get this autograph.

Maybe he's just a d*ck and many in the league don't like him.

The Chargers have only played the Panthers once while Rivers was their starting QB, and that was in Charlotte (2008).  Panthers won that game in the closing seconds. Delhomme's TD pass to Rosario. Brees was the starter in 2004;  Leaf in 2000; Humphries in 1997.

The stadium is empty....good lord.

Rivers and the chargers looking bad. I remember days when I got pissed because it was not on TV. I guess them days are over. Hope Rivers can get back on his game when the new coach is hired. Either way he is a rich man.

RE: 2012 Carolina Panthers Thread (4-9) 12/16 @ Chargers

Define a signature win?  Are we saying one that he "wins" on the last second or just a "big" win?  Probaly *best* win he's ever had at QB in college was the Gator Bowl win over ND.   But I dont think he did anything *great* in that game, as that was just a solid, dominant win by the entire pack team.

Probaly his best *signature* win in the nfl, was the "ed hochula" (spelling) bowl when he had to beat Denver in the last game of the year (funny thing that win only got them to 8-8 that year) to make the playoffs.

Looks like the fans and players have quit on the Chargers. Maybe PR will end up at another team or the whole staff gets canned.

Rivers signed a 6 year contract extension in 2009. He isn't going anywhere.

Ryan Matthews is injured again.  Rivers is going to have to lead the comeback with Battle running the ball.
