Amerson brought us a much needed course correction.

For that, I thank him and will always support him.

The rest of you can ****.

I agree that Amerson deserves some criticism for how he played, but not as much as people are giving him (just like CJ). Especially considering no one really knows what was running through his head.

In August and September I was livid, but after all the emotions and disappointment I came back around to the truth of the matter... it's just a game.

Those guys he was chasing from behind, and losing ground to, all last year, must have been really, really fast.

He cost us two games - and cost TOB his job.  There are a couple positions that can almost single-handedly cost you games, a bad QB and a reckless CB.

Actually he probably saved TOB his job in 2011.

We probably don't beat UVA or Louisville without him. We might not beat CMU and UNC either.

Totally agree! I am not sure why Wolff is not getting more love. Ran just as fast, looked better in drills and lifted more reps.

Bye and good luck.  Won't miss a player who doesn't play for the team, no matter how talented his is.

Dont take a sentence out of context of an interview and pass judgement on a great kid who won us many games at State single handedly....  Get a **** life as I am sure he wont miss you.

Amerson was trying to do too much rather than his specific job in the first half of last season.   He reined himself in later.   I was actually quite impressed with Amerson his freshman year.   His sophmore year was a combination of good presure by the DL and linebackers and the zone we played.   He wasn't as great as he seemed in 2011 nor as bad ( at times ) as he seemed in 2012.

I was not a fan of Amerson's play this year and I can hardly be accused of worshipping him you *******.  I will be pulling for him to do well in the NFL as I do all players who make it to the next level who sported Red in college.  I am not a big fan of CJ Leslie's sometimes selfish play either but I will wish him well when he leaves, even if his play directly costs us some wins this year.

I'm sorry. I'm confused. Is NC State not his alma mater the same as me and many of all of us? This is his school.
No, not if he doesn't graduate from it.

a school, college, or university which one has attended or from which one has graduated

same goes for 'alumni'

Graduation is not required, just like in the case of Zach Galifianakis.

So I can take an Online college basket weaving course at NCSU and call myself an Alum?  That's great!!!

I hope he has a long NFL career.

The guy played great 2 years ago and probably got robbed of the Jim Thorpe Award. Last year he was pretty bad considering he all the talk about him going in to the season. That Miami game may have been the worse game I ever saw any DB play.

I think he has the skills to play in the NFL what happens next is up to him.

Amerson tackles guys about 1-2x a game.  The rest of the time he dives at their feet or whiffs.

Wolff tries to hurt people. Every tackle.  I like that.

The end.

RE: Amerson Shines at NFL Combine

Pulling up and letting the UVA QB score was bad...he played like crap that game. Everybody else did too...so I guess he didn't cost us that game. But he played poorly a lot more than just the Tenn and Miami games. He played so bad he should have been punched in the head in those two games...there were games like UVA where he probably just played bad enough where he should have been benched...and a few where he might have played average ball. He had games where we'd have been better off playing 10 vs 11...at least we'd have known what we had. If you think he only had two bad games this year, you weren't paying attention.

I think it was that UVA game where I think the team basically quit on TOB. Everyone on that team knew Amerson should have been at least benched for a series or two on that play in which he allowed the QB to walk into the endzone. IMO when TOB failed to punish Amerson it demoralized the entire squad.  What other reason would they roll over and play dead for a Homecoming Game.

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

little secret, none of them are playing for "us."

They play for themselves, their families and hopefully for their teammates.

I already bought an Amerson jersey for every team to avoid the rush and make sure I get the early productions.

RE: Amerson Shines at NFL Combine

^ I think UVA out-schemed us. I have a hard time thinking that Amerson's effort had anything to do with our WR's getting open or our OL picking up blitzs. I have a hard time thinking UVA's OL pushes our DL's around had anything to do with Amerson's effort.

Let me ask you guys this - Amerson backup last season was CJ Wilson. How many loses would be wins if CJ had played every snap of the season? Any answer more than 1 (Miami) is crazy-talk. Now would we have won every game we won with CJ as our starter? I have a hard time thinking we beat Maryland with Amerson's INT that stopped a key Maryland drive and without his big third down stop that forced a short field goal.

He probably got faster last year year because of so much practice sprinting to chase down receivers from behind.

He'll go down as a great player in State history, but he could have been a retired jersey guy.

I didn't see him sprint after many receivers from behind. Usually when they were past him he just slowed down and watched.

RE: Amerson Shines at NFL Combine

I dont think he lacked effort this year but I do think he didnt come into the season in top physical condition. He looked much bigger at the start of the year than he was last year and imo wasnt in game shape. He played better as the season progressed and looked good at the combine. I think he will be a good corner in the NFL.

Watched every one of them and didn't see a lack of effort.  Now a playing for myself and Int's yes but don't think he was mailing it in.  Also, the play that gets referenced a lot is the qb scramble against UVA but IMO he had zone coverage on the wr running behind him.  He comes up to hit qb and they dump it over the top of him for a td.
