Re: Boston College at PNC on Wednesday at 8pm (ACCN-split/espn3)

We enjoyed a pretty strong effort for a complete game last week at home against FSU. We need to duplicate that from here on out. It needs to become the norm intead of the exception. And until he earns back the minutes, CJ needs to come off the bench. That's not being overly harsh mind you, just a no-brainer at this point until the kid can work through his issues. I have to think even HE has to see that.

Re: Boston College at PNC on Wednesday at 8pm (ACCN-split/espn3)

Looking at our road ACC games this year we have 2 close wins over poor competition and 5 loses. Not seeing us winning both of our remaining two road games.

That being said... I can't see any way we lose this game vs BC @ home.

It is time to get down to business, and this team is capable of winning out. Now would be a good time to finally employ all of the "lessons learned" this season.

To be fair, we did that against FSU.  However, we failed to build on that against UNC.

Wellll - we did beat only two teams by double digits in the ACC - FSU (by 18) and Gtech.

That bodes well for beating them on their home courts - and it is not like their home courts are very fan excited or anything.

We can win all 4 of our remaining games if we even give the effort we gave At Duke and At the CHeats (because those 2 teams are nowhere near as good as Duke and Carawhina).

GO PACK!!! BEAT BC!!!

We must must must beat the 2 bottom feeders at home - that would hurt us more than any loss on the road.

No doubt. As long as we take care of business at home we will still limp in into the NCAA tourney, which is always the primary goal of the regular season. I would like to see us show some poise and passion on the road and win out... that would give me confidence going into the postseason and would give us a solid seed in the NCAAT and hopefully the ACCT.

UNC wanted the win as badly as we did. Road wins are hard to get, this year. Miami @ WF. Duke @ NC State,...

You do realize this is NC State you are talking about right? There are no "easy wins".

I agree, typically.  But I am very confident in this game and the Wake game at home.  Both those teams are just terrible on the road.  We've played really good at home all season in spite of our inconsistencies, I don't see any reason for that to change now.

Well we should win both home games by double digits - but Vatech has been horrible on the road (and at home - look at BC's only road win again) and that game went to OT before we pulled it out.

GO PACK!!! Make BC take a powder!

Pack wins, but by less than 10. Probably a close game in which we pull away in the last few minutes.

It took OT for us to beat VaTech at home. Plus, we're coming off a rough finish against UNC. So, nothing is a given, but we should win this. We really *have* to win this.

Saw a little of the FSU-WF game last night.  During the game they mentioned that Wake is
5-2 at home in the ACC this year (one of those two was a very close loss to Duke).  To me that shows just how valuable home court is this year.  Would be shocked if we lost to BC or Wake at home but it is a tall order to beat GT and FSU on the road.

Heck, if you're watching the game at the restaurant, you will probably get tossed out of the joint for cussing before halftime, so you ought to be back on here by the second half to moderate the lunatic fringe.biggrin

The home stretch starts tonight....4 games before Greensboro...How bad do ya want it Pack????? I have been reading the boards, but it seems like folks are forgetting about Maryland..they are only one game behind us and hold the tie breaker....In looking at the last 4 games, there are some real important basketball left to play...I would really like to not have to play on Thursday in Greensboro....I think the schedule is favorable for that to be a reality....What is done is done and cannot be changed...Let's take care of what is in front of us...Let's get on a roll heading into tournament...Plan on being there when the Pack cuts down the nets...Go Pack!!!

I see merit to both of these points.  College basketball is all about the tournaments and the regular season is just about positioning within the tournaments and building momentum for the tournaments.  I think that's ISE's point.

I agree with OTF that we need to capture an ACC tournament crown.  It has been far too long.  If we're to re-establish any true excellence in our program and get on a more even playing field with UNC and Duke, we need to start by winning some ACC tournaments.  I think that winning one will do more for our program than a random Sweet 16 here or there (which face it, that's been our high water mark since V).
