The had concerts there when it was first built, then everyone realized how much it sucked.

They also built it on the promise that it would not cost the taxpayers $1.  It costs us $1mm a year.

Watched them play Gardner Webb in their season opener in 2006. So this was their first home game as defending champs and the place was about 60% full. Only real energy came when Noel hit a game winning 3 with about 5 seconds left.

Went to a Duke game against the same opponent in the middle of December. Night and day difference with atmosphere and experience.

Overall, it was alright.  I enjoyed my time in Cameron a lot better.

The building looked a bit run down and old, I'm surprised they haven't fixed it up.

The fans around me were alright.  One redneck couple behind me kept saying the most idiotic things about Gottfried and Leslie and in general being obnoxious.

After the game, the fans were generally civil saying that we had a good team and all.

Shockingly enough, very few people called me Sidney Lowe.

Traffic is bad (once again).  They really need to fix that.

How did you all think about the experience?

I don't think there is any way to fix that unless you're going to take out some on-campus buildings to widen the exit roads. It takes forever to get out of that place. Almost as bad as getting out of Clemson when the Panthers played there and there was highway construction going on.

I saw David Bowie's Glass Spider tour and a Sting concert there. If I hadn't known the words to the songs I wouldn't have recognized them due to all the reverb.

Ahhh......2006 - UNC struggled to defeat Gardner Webb that year but dominated a good NC State team in both games.  But it was just another game to our former fearless leader Herbert.

I've been to games in Cameron against non-conference opponents and haven't been impressed.  The Duke crowds aren't what they were 25 years ago.
