When I first saw this picture in this thread I honestly didn't recognize him.  I thought "Who is that kid and why is his picture in a Richard Howell thread?"

Some work in the weight room and some physical maturity have paid off for him.

Rich is the man, he brings it every night.  I wish some of his blue collar approach to playing would rub off on one of his teammates.

Richard Howell, I'm proud of you as a Wolfpack player today, you did play your heart out. I won't mention names but if the whole Pack got the concentrated effort you give each game the Pack couldn't be beaten. You haven indeed improved from last year and will earn what you deserve in the future.

I've been watching Pack games for over 40 years and this guy is one of my all time favorite players.  Tears will be shed on senior day.

My thoughts exactly.  I've been watching since 1982 (so 31 years) and Howell is in my top 5.  The last player on NC State with this much heart was Hodge.

I said before the season started that the only thing that could stop Howell on this level was the refs.  He's proved it this year and shown what hard work and determination can result in.

I'm proud of Howell.  I hope he finishes up strong and gets a much deserved spot on the first team All ACC list.

Perhaps not the most talented player on our team, but you know he's going to bring it each and every night and give you everthing he has.  You really can't ask for more than that from a player.  I will cetainly miss him as well.
