Landing Julius Randle could be the difference between this season being a drop in the bucket or a marker for the waking of the sleeping giant that is NC State basketball. BRING HIM HOME!

RE: Pack Visiting Julius Randle Today
We really need to get this guy.
Assuming Brown and Leslie leave, next year is going to be a challenge without him - even with some extremely good talent coming back.

Julius Randle would be huge for this team next year. It would give us a legitimate inside threat, which otherwise we will not have.

This was on Julius Randle's twitter account on February 18th - I think he meant "time to focus on signing with State now," but I could be mistaken.

I just attended a luncheon with Dave Telep as speaker. He was very high on our incoming class, but said the real key to a great recruiting year for us would be signing Randle. He said Randle would play... I believe he said start... next year if he comes to State. He is Very high on Randle.

Re: Pack Visiting Julius Randle Today
^^^Randle would start anywhere he went, so saying he could start here vs some other school is a moot point.
Personally what worries me is that he said he has visited KU 4 times so he is very familiar with the players, coaches and school. Plus he is a Texas boy so Kansas keeps him closer to home.
I think Fla could be a sleeper in all this. Not worried about Texas since Barnes should probably get the ax and they are beyond atrocious this year.
Bottom line is the young man has some absolutely great options in front of him and I just hopes he ends up making his decision sooner rather than later.

Post of eternity. Maybe 30. The 70's and 80's were pretty darn good in Basketball (minus the crap ncaa stuff instigated by Deanose.)

"...saying he could start here vs some other school is a moot point." Correct... but I didn't say that. We will be very lucky if he lands at State. He would fill a big hole here. Without him, we may struggle next year.

If we land Randle, we'll be a team who's completely built around freshmen and sophomores.

Re: Pack Visiting Julius Randle Today
Hate to be pessimistic here but this seems like a last ditch effort. My friend works with the basketball team and apparently Randle's mother recently hasn't been returning phone calls since his trip to Kansas. Hopefully Gott can reel him back in. I believe we, or the staff, will know if he is not suiting up in red next year sometime this week. My speculation of course.

boonewolf1 wrote: They must feel pretty good about the chances with this awesome future player at NCSU! Purely speculation on my part, but this in-home visit, and the timing of it right after the Randle visit to KU makes me think that the trip was likely scheduled so that Gott can hear from Randle if we're still a player for his services. If not, he can cut it off now and work on signing other targets we may have.

I guess there is a reason they pay that guy the big bucks In other news.....UNC-CH is a cesspool of cheating and water is wet. ......I joke but good to hear confirmation that we already have a highly thought of recruiting class

I see Next years lineup as: 1) Lewis, Barber coming off the bench to start with 2) Purvis, backed up by Turner (or Turner starting) 3) Warren, backed up by Turner 4) Washington 5) Anya Bring in Randle and that changes everything. We then have depth at every position. Bring in the SG from JUCO...and you are looking at a team who is more talented than this years team.

RE: Pack Visiting Julius Randle Today
That team might have more overall talent, but this year's team has a ton of experience and that's hard to account for. It's why Miami is having so much success this year.
