Seriously, Purvis has a few flaws, but the kid is still a baller. I would take him over any other Freshman SG in the league, INCLUDING SULAIMON. He's already a baller and seems to make the game fun (even though he's currently in a bad freshman slump) and enjoys playing it. Gotta love the kids attitude. He'll stick with it, he'll learn from his mistakes and hopefully he gets some FT reps in, cause he's gonna be spending some time there during his college and PRO career. Wade averaged 18 ppg, FT percent was 69 percent, and shot close to 50 percent as a college freshman. You're wrong...again. Wade may have averaged those numbers his first year of college basketball, but Wade had to sit his freshman year, hence the joke. It's widely publicized, it shouldn't take you long to find it.

Dude, I was stationed in the Chicago area when Wade sat out his first year at Marquette, so the joke is on you. Anyway, in basketball there's very little difference in a 19 year-old college freshman and one that's 18.

Yet, you still don't get what I'm saying. I'm actually at a loss of words. And FYI, there is a huge difference between a freshman and a sophomore. IIRC, Wade was treated like a transfer - allowed to practice, couldn't play. So he had time to work on his game moreso than other players.

lolololol They didn't follow the golden rule. FSU getting that many was too good to be true. So there's a "golden rule" in sports betting. What get-rich gambling book did you get that jewel from? LOL "FSU getting that many was too good to be true." is ambiguous. They should've gotten fewer points? The spread was moving toward that. Me thinks you didn't put down a dime.(I didn't, either)

Good game PACK - take this progress to chapel hill and let's get two from them this year!! I keep asking myself; how/when did he get so bad? He has never been great, but at the beginning of his career there were times where he was actually effective as a lane clogging presence. Just having him in there, he altered shots, but now... I don't think he's bad. He's just not the kind of kid Gott would've recruited for this offense. Just like, in a completely different way, I don't think Gott would've recruited Leslie(except for him being from the Raleigh area).

Since its the Post-Game thread, I am going to find something to complain about. First, until Purvis learns to make layups he does not need to see the court much if at all. Don't know what is going on with him but he has missed probably close to 40 layups in transition this season. Secondly, Vandy .
Great win, excited for the game Saturday! Yes, this is true but last night, I thought Purvis made some nice hustle plays last night. In the previous games, he just didn't seem as engaged. I really like Purvis, and I don't feel like it is ever effort with him. But the dude has to stop missing layups. Period. I love Purvis, but I'm afraid his shots won't fall until his free throws fall. It bothers him, and is amplified by the increasing level of competition.

Re: Short Post-Game Thread: NC State beats FSU
I haven't read the whole thread so if this has been discussed I'm sorry for repeating. Can anyone tell me what was the call at half court with Richard Howell when he reached around the guy and then he went backcourt? I thought it was backcourt. But they gave the ball to Fla State. No need to blow the whistle if it wasn't a backcourt violation. Also the commentator said he didn't have control of it. Well he bounced it twice after Howell touched it. Plus I 've never heard that you had to have control of it once you were over on offense.
I have always understood that to be like out of bounds for the offensive team. Unless the defensive team is the last one to hit it before it crosses backcourt then its anyones ball. But if he bounces it off the offensive player its backcourt if the offensive player regains the ball without the defensive player touching it again.

They said the ball was touched by Howell so it was not over and back. I think they were wrong. At first I thought they had called a foul, and perhaps could have, but the clock did not reset so no foul was called.

Re: Short Post-Game Thread: NC State beats FSU
In regard to Purvis:
I don't think it's so much that the kid is in a slump, it's more that his minutes have been decreased and probably for good reason:
The emergence of Tyler Lewis
The reemergence of TJ Warren
The return of Lorenzo Brown
Game flow & matchup
There's gonna be a situation where Rodney is needed and needed in a big way. It very well could be this weekend since UNC can throw a lot of "wing" players at us. Rodney can defend, he can get out and run, and he has shown the ability to stick open jumpers.
Our depth at the guard position is a good problem to have. Rodney just needs to be ready when he's called upon to step up big. It's coming.

How are ACC mens basketball standing tie breakers decided. Right now we have the better overall record as compared to UVA, but they beat us so I thought they would be ahead of us in conference standings. However we are listed above them in the ACC.com standings.

Re: Short Post-Game Thread: NC State beats FSU
Did anyone else hear the FSU chick up in Section 338 screaming during our free throw attempts?
After several times of her screaming right before the shot was taken, one of our fans screamed back after the shot was made. Then, each time she screamed, more people joined in screaming back. Eventually it seemed like every time she screamed a couple hundred State fans screamed back! .... quiet ... a single scream ... swish ... MASSIVE SCREAM!!!
It was hilarious!!! And mocking her was a far better response than someone cussing and giving her a hard time. Better than doing like Ol' Roy and having her thrown out.
