I hope the rest of the original ACC members stay together forever.  All of this expansion has destroyed enough rivalries already.  If you guys hate UNC that much that you want them out of the ACC then give me your center court tickets, or 50 yard line tickets for free.  I'll give you tickets to a game vs a cupcake in return.

Since "ACC" officials don't exist, that would be easy to arrange.  On the other hand, if you weren't too lazy or too dumb to look it up, you would find that some of the officials who work ACC games are already working Big 10 games- so it's already started.

OK, so now let's get a credible link.  Everyone knows UNC has what appears to be a standing invite to the B1G.

Yet... the B1G ended up with Maryland and Rutgers.

that would be funny to see them @ road games freezing their light blue buns off up there in November. Even though Maryland appeared like a long shot to leave the ACC, they do seem like a northern school.

I get it...we all hate UNC-ch. They can "go to hell" for all I care. But, without them, the ACC will truly become the Big East II.
Here's the nightmare scenario that would likely happen if the Holes left:

UVA and Duke would follow the Holes into the Big Ten. Other, more desireable teams (sad, but true), like Clemson or Va Tech or FSU or Miami or Syracuse and Notre Dame, would be snatched up by the SEC or the Big 12. We'd be left with the biggest school in a crappy conference.

I hear you that the SEC would be better than the ACC. But, I don't see an offer on the table and I suspect that if they're adding two, they would add FSU and Va Tech and Clemson before us. I know that the NC market is desireable, but those other schools have had more success recently than us in Football and have a wider fanbase. It would be great if the SEC walked through that door and gave us an invite to save the day, but we can't assume that will happen.

Yes, we hate the Holes because for so many years they've looked down on us, recieved preferential treatment by the league, the media, and the refs. Yes, they are cheaters that are likely to skate after the academic scandal that would have burried us and any lesser school. But, we have to pull for them to do the right thing and stay put in the ACC. All of you begging for them to leave should be begging them to stay...at least until we have an SEC offer, then f'em.

The SEC won't take FSU, Ga Tech, or Clemson due to the fact there already have schools in these states and adding these schools does not add to the television household footprint.

When it looked like the ACC would inevitably fall apart, I would have welcomed this move. Now, I don't think the ACC is in very bad shape. I'd trade Maryland for Louisville all day long. The additions of Pitt/Syracuse look pretty good (when you compare that the B16 got Rutgers and Maryland).

I doubt UNC has interest in leaving so its probably a moot point.

Sure, but one of the thoughts is that, as long as the Holes remain in the ACC, we have very little chance of being able to leave for another conference, thanks to the BOG.

Yes, it's a gamble, but it's one that many would be willing to see happen.

Why does this sound almost identical to the nonsense being spouted by the "Dude" last Summer?  If you recall FSU, GT, Miami and Clemson were all going to the Big 12.

As Buffet said, Louisville is an upgrade over Maryland.  The ACC actually came out of that deal better than the B1G.  IMO, Pitt and Syracuse are better than Maryland and light years better than Rutgers.  Add in ND and the ACC is actually in a good position right now.

I still can't fathom just what the hell the B1G thinks Rutgers will do for them.  And just stop with the "market" argument.  NJ is a pro sports state and TV is going to an la carte model sooner than later.  If you don't think so buy a Roku player.  You will be amazed at the content available.  HD quality, on demand and cheaper than cable or sat.  Roku has sports too.  NHL Game Center and MLB TV are already available.

What? If UNC did go to the BIG and the two schools were no longer joined at the hip, the SEC would offer NC State in less than 24 hours, they(SEC) may want UNC first, but NC State is 2nd  on that list. The SEC would get a footprint in NC lightyears before they would add another SC or Fla school, to think otherwise is foolish. USCeast and UF would not allow either two you mentioned into the SEC, same thing with GT and UGa.

I don't think it's any secret that the B1G would like to expand to 16 teams, yet they picked up MD and Rutgers. Yeah, huge gets so far.

No one in the ACC is going anywhere until the Twerps' suit with the conference is resolved.

Just because NY/NJ Area is a pro sports area doesnt mean Rutgers games are not on TV. Now the BIG 10 will be able to get their network on all the cable providers in the NY/NJ area where there is a large BIG 10 alumni population which equals more money. The school is irrelevant to the BIG 10.
