Mark Gottfried (22), North Carolina State. His Wolfpack began the year in the Top 10 and currently are unranked after a succession of road losses (2-5 in true road games). This can still end well if the Pack can answer the bell a couple more times away from home, but the dreamed-of return to ACC primacy isn’t going to happen – at least in the regular season.

Quick snapshot and not off base.  We have some work to do.  This season still makes me nervous.

If next season doesn't matter, why are coaches out recruiting. I'm not sure I follow. 

Obviously, it's about "what have you done lately" but certainly programs have to build for the future or fall behind quickly.

The COACHES, get this the COACHES!!!!! picked them too, including Gott himself unless he was one of the three that chose Duke.

Like coaches from the PAC-10 have a clue.

Nothing wrong with these statements.  We aren't winning the ACC regular season title and have lost games on the road.  I would point out that the losses to UVA and Duke were w/o our best player. With Brown, that stat changes to 2-3 but that Wake loss pretty much negates my argument I suppose.  Expectations were probably too high coming into season, but I still think we can have  a special season.  ACC tourney will be tough for us considering our lack of depth.  Need that bye.  But NCAA tourney is wide open and we have as good a shot as anybody imo.
