Also, I've seen on the NLFN crawl that the only players listed for NCSU's pro day are Glennon, Wolff, and Allen. Amerson just doing the combine or are they just forgetting to add him to the crawl? Amerson is there. Put up 15 reps in the bench. Glennon is basically the only guy that has gotten any coverage at all and it's been largely negative at this point. Allen has had no press and Amerson and Wolff haven't either. The DB's do 40's, vertical, broad jump and the drills tomorrow. Maybe one of our DB's can do something. DNP for some reason.

He is leaning backwards which happens when you are slowing up. He also doesn't have his hands out, leaning forward to try and get in the play and/or tackle the WR. LOL.

Looking at this picture still drives me crazy. He would have been better tripping the WR at this point because at least it isn't a spot file like in the NFL. Mr OPACK wrote:

^ not complaining about the loss, just trying to put some perspective on everyone slobbering about a "4.38-40" time. It ain't all about how fast you run in the NFL. Or in Miami for that matter.

Earl Wolff, 39" vertical. #4 in his DB group.

RE: "Official" NFL Combine thread
In the backpedal drill, DA dorked his footwork on the turn, looked unnatural, like he was thinking about it. He knew it too, by the look on his face while he finished the run. Technique was terrible.
NFL Network coverage is giving it to Amerson from both sides.
The "tape guys" are pointing out the Miami game. To the "measurables guys" he answered the speed question, did 15 reps. Seems fair to question technique and game performance, but they also point out that a gifted athlete can be taught good technique and skills.

It certainly isn't but kid is going to make it in to a pay day for him. He has all the tools to be a legit NFL player regardless of a picture. Conclusion - he is an NFL player with great size, speed and tools to do well in the league. So, we had a gifted athlete in Amerson, and his "technique" is poor.
Speaks volumes about his coaching.

IMO Amerson will go down as one of the most like players in State history. He did what needed to be done to turn the page on our program, and now he's back to doing work in the combine. Nice work young man.

I don't think it was great but I think he was still learning. Didn't he just start playing football his HS So or Jr year? players are constantly learning and improving technique SoonerWolf wrote: So, we had a gifted athlete in Amerson, and his "technique" is poor.

Speaks volumes about his coaching. His man coverage technique is actually pretty good. Zone coverage didn't work so well last year. ---------------------------------------------

Re: "Official" NFL Combine thread
Video basically shows him just casually watching the Miami WR catch the ball... then once that happens, it's like an "oh ****", too little too late reaction... then after the score throws his arms up to blame it on someone else.
Just like the Tennessee game... oh, and nice to read he takes responsibility for the last Miami TD... but no mention on the other 3 prior to that.
Did NOT have a good season. Was a surefire 1st Round pick coming into the season and blew it.
Mid 2nd Round.

Speaks volumes about his coaching. Winner, winner. There were many here that wanted to keep his position coach on staff, because he can recruit. Personally, I'd rather have a guy that can coach up what he has.

when I went out to bank i heard Jim Rome about Honey Badger and his 4 reps on the bench press
"where your bench press is faster than your 40 time, you had a bad combine"

Congrats to Amerson and Wolff...that's TJ Graham speed there.
That said, I'm guessing Cordell Patterson must run a 3.65.
