RE: Rodney Purvis
He damn near single handedly won the BC game for us.

Re: Rodney Purvis
RP...don't listen to these negative *******. We are thankful you chose the Pack and are proud of all that you are doing. Your enthusiasm and effort are second to none. Good things will come soon. Keep the faith!

Re: Rodney Purvis
Purvis has all the intensity and tools to be great. He's a huge part of this and future Wolfpack squads.
Don't let a temporary dip in playing time obscure that.

RE: Rodney Purvis
The guy is the future of the program, why we expect freshman to play like seniors is a mystery to me. He's one of my favorite players.

RE: Rodney Purvis
His stat sheet may not show it, but he did make some excellent plays for us against FSU. I was saddened when several of his fast break lay ups rolled off the rim but his penetration allowed for offensive rebounds and layups for us. He also stole the ball after one of his misses at an important part of the game.
His energy off the bench is what we need. Instant boost.

RE: Rodney Purvis
RP reminds me a little of Scooter Sherrill. Scooter improved during his college career, but never seemed to reach his full potential. I believe Rodney will far surpass what Scooter accomplished, though, and be at least All-ACC. I just hope he becomes reliable at the FT line.

His energy off the bench is what we need. Instant boost. Winner....most of RP's misses were effective assists to the bigs, and he did not hurt us in any way versus FSU. The good news is he IS able to get to the rack at will...just needs a bit more seasoning to start flushing them and/or dishing it.
Wolfpack Fans: Sometimes the only thing we have to be proud of is each other...but that will always be enough...

Re: Rodney Purvis
Purvis is going to be an absolute beast for us and his value is well beyond his play on the court. Future recruits would and will love to play with this guy and that is likely to prove big for us on the recruiting trail. We are very lucky to have this kid and like all great players he'll come around, hopefully it's this weekend in Cheater Hill.

I do think RP has the benefit of better coaching and his potential is higher. Scooter's coach seemed to play mind games with him....

RE: Rodney Purvis
This thread has served it's purpose. Rodney was a 5* shooting guard, a top 15-20 recruit. Based on that many suggested he was an one-and-done talent and the vast majority expected him to perform similar to Marcus Smart. It's highly doubtful he's going to reach that level this season.
We've all had a chance to praise, hype, debate, criticize, or give excuses for his decreased production. I say we end this thread. Otherwise, it will continue to allow of us to single him out for his positive and negative plays for every game. Also, this type of thread should be for lesser heralded players.
