MBB 2/17
As much of an enigma as State has been, I'm really struggling to see how Ohio State is a top 15 team. Every time I've watched them this year they have been mediocre.

Wisconsin is a tough team to play for sure, but oddly enough they've struggled in the NCAAT under Bo Ryan. Not sure I can explain that one.

Thug ball does not translate well to the Tourney, some BE teams have trouble once the dance starts as well.

Will never forget when State had a lead on Wisconsin, then fell apart. Woulda put State against the *cheats in the elite 8. That was the year the *won a championship

Big Ten teams are allowed to lose games and be forgiven in the rankings. Other leagues are not afforded that.

Right, but no one said we were good, either Yeah...that's not really the argument here. I'm looking at Ohio State's body of work and watching them today and it's pretty pedestrian for a top 15 team. Their best road win is what Purdue or Nebraska? Their RPI and top 100 numbers are better because the top of the Big 10 is so strong numbers wise they're boosting each other up. Purdue is hot garbage but I bet they're in the top 100 (I honestly haven't looked). OSU looks a lot like a bubble team to me not on paper, but visually every time I've seen them play.  And OSU has more talent IMO than probably any ACC team. Not sure what's going on out there.

Seems as though all the analysts say the Big 10 is by far the best conference this year. They probably are the best, but I believe they are a little overated. Didn't we split with them in our annual showdown this year. 6-6?

This Tim Brando and Bill Rafferty announcing team is a very good one. Both are passionate about the game but don't over do it.

I dont understand that either. Our resumes are very similar but they are top 15 and we are unranked. Our rpi, sos and records vs rpi top 100 are slightly better. Our best ooc win (uconn) is better than theirs (washington). Both have 2 non-conference losses to ranked teams and have similar conference and overall records. |

The difference is that CBS has several teams in the Big 10: Purdue, Nebraska, NW along with just inside the Top 100 I think.
Yahoo and RealtimeRPI have those teams between 101 and 125.
