Re: VT Coach James Johnson - coach box violation
What you had yesterday was Thug ball and 3 solid lapses from the Three Blind Mice. HC saw the Merryland Thug Ball Fest and other than UNC, have pretty much deployed it due to FT shooting, it's the reason Rodney and CJ get blasted in the paint.

But Coach Johnson spent more time in front of the scorers table and on the playing court than inside the line. They might as well eliminate the line if they are not going to enfore it! Go Pack! You must never watched Sid coached. He lived on the court when he coached.

Johnson apparently does not know what the line on the sideline is for, and neither did that set of officials. He lived outside of box and often on the court.

Does this mean Tyler Lewis is also a thug for giving it right back to Raines while burying said free throws?

People are sensitive to the word "thug", you have got to be kidding me. I'm glad I had my time setting my moral compass in the 70's and 80's. People will buy video games centered on organized crime, with killing, rape and maiming, but have a problem with the usage of the word "thug", that is comical as the day is long.

Re: VT Coach James Johnson - coach box violation
The really interesting thing about this thread is that the OP, 62Pack, has been going to Wolfpack basketball games since the early 1950's - which were still the early years of the Case era. That is fantastic for 62Pack.

Re: VT Coach James Johnson - coach box violation
I was watching the coach after a timeout and he went off. Was throwing the clipboard and yelling like a psycho to his players. Was not a typical coach rant...at least to me. Keep an eye of this guy.

--------------------------------------------- I can't post any video of it, but if you have access to Watch ESPN you can watch the replay and what happens with 8.1 seconds left. The stuff that went on was not as bad as I remembered it from yesterday. Zo actually is the person that elbows Wood and pushes him away from the VT players, he was trying to prevent things from escalating. Zo and Wood both missed FTs at the end that would have iced the game for us. Can't expect guys to make them all but between the two of them I expect 3-for-4, not 2-for-4. Maybe our guys should try VT's FT defense tactics when we go to Chapel Hill.

ncst179 wrote: I don't know this guy personally, but I was not impressed with some of the things his team were doing out there. Looking at what his team was doing, it is a reflection on him and his staff. They seemed to be doing "shady" stuff all night. And these weren't things the players were doing on their own, but things that had to be instructed by the coach or even practiced. They grabbed and shoved throughout the game as guys went across the lane. Then, they pulled that stunt where they gathered at the free throw line as Scott was about to shoot. Also, they did the illegal free throw put-back. All these things had to have been orchestrated by the staff. (There is no way players would think, on their own to stand right in front of the free throw line as a guy is about to shoot.) Now I understand guys trying to "gain an advantage", but what about sportsmanship and trying to beat someone man to man. Maybe I am biased, but I don't feel as though Gott pulls any stuff like this. He seems like a guy that plays "straight up" Was anyone else annoyed by this? Ok, rant over, haha.... That absolutely infuriated me. If I was SW right there I would have pushed through their huddle. The fact that they got away with so much BS yesterday is a reflection not only on their coach, but on the officials. As soon as they started gathering on the foul line and intentionally disrupting SW the officials should have stepped in and told them to break it up and if they did it again it would be a technical. That was some straight up bush league crap.
