It's an ok article, but if you were expecting anything hard hitting from Wright Thompson, you're fooling yourself

Re: ESPN - 'Michael Jordan has not left the building'

They should be writing how MJ bought an NBA franchise at a fraction of the cost of what the price would be for an expansion team to start.  Yes, the original cost of the Bobcats was much more than what MJ paid for them; in such a short time.

Now we are seeing the stories were he supposedly beat a Bobcats rookie in a game of one-on-one (yeah right) and he could make a comeback at 50. I guess they think everyone has forgotten about his mediocre play with the Wizards at the end of his career.

MJ must be getting ready to pimp some product or service. Either that or just wants his ego stroked.

I loved Jordan in his playing days. He was, and still is in my opinion, the best athlete in modern sports. I wish someone would tell him that he's arrived and doesn't have to s#*t on other people. It's like he feels he still has to prove something to somebody. If he would just act with some sense of grace and humility, his legacy would be fine. But I feel like he's ruining it.

Smoking maybe allowed since he owns the building, but Cuban cigars are illegal.

First of all private security is not an "entourage". And, you were the one who said "he" compared himself to Jesus. Which is obviously not true. Regardless, this is clearly a non issue.

ESPN ran this on the Ticker during our game. I love how that **** is a newsworthy story to ESPN, but the worst athletic / academic scandal in history is not.

Remember, it was a Bobcats rookie... not a real NBA level player.  cool

I heard someone say that the first time his son beat him in one-on-one, MJ asked for and got an immediate rematch. After MJ won the second game, he never played against his kid again ever. Classy.

Mediocre play? He averaged 20 points and shot almost 50% from the field. He was a shell of his former self, but he was still pretty dang good. Not a good person at all, but he's the best basketball player ever and it isn't even close. He could probably come back and contribute to the bobcats. He has too big of an ego to just be a contributor though. He wasn't satisfied putting up 20 a night for a bad team when he was 40, there's no way that he could stand to come back and average 13 for the worst team in the league.

MJ could not hit .216 in minor league baseball.....greatest athlete, nope.  Biggest ego, yep.  Would anyone want to trade places with him ?  As big a disappointmet as was Tiger, I would take Tiger over MJ....maybe.

I have known people in the busiess world like MJ and he was their hero.  Real sick people.

Jordan took sportsmanship to a new level of low that continues to this day. His **** talking was renowned throughout the NBA, the golf courses and the craps tables. He might hold 6 NBA titles but he couldn't carry Bill Russel's jock in being considered an ambassador of the game.

Great read! I guess I'm in the minority for an NC State fan but I'll always love Michael Jordan. I don't care that he's a jerk off the court.

Re: ESPN - 'Michael Jordan has not left the building'

Obviously he is not a great person and a tarhole, but objectively you have too admit he is the greatest basketball player ever and an incredible competitor. I actually kind of enjoyed the trash talking and fire he showed on the court. At least he cares about winning and played hard.

Wilt Chamberlain. They changed the rules of the game because Wilt was absolutely unstoppable. They selectively enforced the rules to make Jordan better.
