Roger Goodell makes $30 mil a year!
Goodell makes 30 mil/yrI had no idea that the league commissioners banked that kind of coin.

So the CEO makes 1/3 of a % of the company's revenue (9 bil)? Is this unusual or too high?

Goodell only made $11MM last year, he received a $22MM bonus in 2012 for negotiating the new CBA and TV deals.

Perspectives on this pay are varied, and here's mine: this is one helluva amount of money for a guy (1) who governs a sport played 5-6 months a year, and (2) this is one helluva amount of money for a guy whose livelihood depends in large degree on others getting their brains bashed in.

Actually, if you don't make a profit you will probably be ****** after a few years. You just can't distribute a dividend to shareholders like you can in a for profit business. All profits must be invested into the agency.

Chump change compared to most CEOs. . . .especially when you are over one of the most two most powerful products in the USA (Apple being the other).

You need to narrow that down to say the Fortune 100 CEOs. There aren't that many guys making the kind of money Goddell did last year. Goodall only makes 15 times the average salary of an NFL player. A Fortune 500 CEO makes 380 times the average worker. It's all out of whack in this country.

NFL athletes are only a fraction of NFL-based employees. I'm not even talking about ticket takers and coke salesmen -- I'm talking about all of the NFL media offices, marketing, and all of the non-players on each team. I'd bet the median salary for all folks who work for the NFL itself or for a team within the NFL [not for a stadium operations] is more like $50,000 -- which would mean Goodall makes 600 times the median salary, not 15 times. To only include the NFL athletes is a cherry pick.
