DT was ranked too low at #9... too bad the Holes made sure he was not allowed to win back-to-back NCAA tournaments.

I thought at least one member of the 83' team would've made the cut...I mean it was only one of the most remembered and exciting runs to a title ever.

I'm definitely not old enough to remember the 74' tournament but from my knowledge of the history of college basketball I have no problem with him being 9th. I mean look the people in front of him. This is not a vote on "greatest player" but on NCAA tournament player. Kareem Laettner Russell Magic Ewing Danny Manning (only one even questionable) Jerry Lucas

Bird should have been #1 easily, that team would have been hot garbage without him.

This is a very tough list. What are your criteria? If Player A was in 4 NCAA tournaments and was very good, do you rank that over Player B who only played in 1, but was outstanding?

RE: ESPN: Top 75 players in NCAA Tourney History
What makes DT's story even more remarkable is the fact he took that spill against Pittsburgh in the Elite 8, and then comes back a week later to beat UCLA in the Final 4, the most dominant team of the previous 7 years.
It's amazing he was able to do that. You really wondered if he could come back from a fall like that.
I was at that game. You really thought he was dead after he hit the floor. The sound of his head hitting the floor was loud. It was a really bad fall.
Crowd went dead silent. They put him on a stretcher and took him to Rex.
Walter Cronkite is calling Rex Hospital to get an update for the evening national news. This was a huge national story.
Huge media attention leading up to the game, was he even going to be able to play that week?
And he came out like Superman on Saturday. People forget he was a very tough player.
That's why he should be higher on the list. There might not be a better example of "singular excellence", except maybe that Walton game from 72.

I remember watching that game on a 19 inch black and white TV as a kid. The team played inspired basketball with Thompson out. I remember him walking back to the bench with his head wrapped up in that big white bandage! Place went nuts! That team solidified my becoming a State Fan! One of my brothers was a Freshman there that next year. DT was the Man!

A case could be made for dropping Drexler and adding Bailey. shot vs UNLV should get Bailey more consideration

Thought Lowe should have made the list, albeit not very high. His 40minutes in the title game with 0 turnovers by itself is noteworthy.

Alcindor 3 years 3 titles 3 MVP

shot vs UNLV should get Bailey more consideration Great play that doesn't get enough mention. Still not certain how he did it.
