I printed two with the same bar code number on it.  Hope it works.  Me and Mrs will be going, but I emailed a couple other friends and let them know about the screening.

No joke. I'm "only" an hour away and can't justify this on my Monday night schedule.

I registered for three tickets.  I want back to print them off this evening and noticed that my file only has one ticket in it.  I was curious if this was the same for other people that ordered more than one?

I noticed that too.  Probably the standard NCSU sports marketing screw up.
Hopefully, it scans to show 3 admitted, but I doubt it.
Will be fitting for the trainwreck of a season we are having.

Here is a response I got concerning the tickets for multiple users.

Xxxxxxx,
Thanks for letting us know.  We will have a list on file tonight with the names of everyone who registered, and we will be able to grant access to everyone in your party based on that.  No need to worry about the missing tickets.
Thanks, Xxxxxxx

Amazing film, really well done. Would be appreciated by anyone even without ties to State.

Follows the story of the 83 season, specifically the ACC Tourney W, and Championship W game by game. It also intertwines V's fight with cancer and famous speeches (ESPY and Cutting down nets one from '87). It also shows many clips from a meetup the members of the team had at PRs a year ago. These three parts all mix together very nicely in a unique format. Don't want to ruin any of it, but damn, was it an emotional film. What a great job Whitt did along with Hock (the producer)! WOW!

Incredible. They got the lead NCAA investigator of V/NCSU to be interviewed about the entire "Personal Fouls" matter as well. Awesome, awesome documentary. Brights you to laugh, think and cry.

Just got home - it went from touching to hilarious and back.  Cannot believe it was 30 years ago.  I was at the Virginia game when Whit went down and was on the brickyard after every improbable victory.

It was awesome, especially for those like myself who are too young to have experienced the buildup and series of events first hand.  The film was everything Jimmy V would want it to be...made you laugh, think, and be moved to tears.  Whit was the narrator for much of the film and he's almost as funny as V.  Loved it!

Whit was an absolute riot, basically the whole film.

It's been mentioned, but the NCAA investigator was a nice touch too, pointing out basically all the claims in Personal Fouls as being wrong. It'll be nice to finally have that on the record on ESPN in primetime.

A handful of the 83 team was there including Whit. Pam Valvano was presented but didn't speak. Just lots of love and hugs.

Did anyone see the bball team there. They need to watch this more than anyone!

I went and it was very well done and an awesome job.  If any of you have the DVD "The Glass Slipper Still Fits" it's similar, but goes into more detail and more game footage from the run.  There are a few other things I probably would have added, but for the most part very complete.

It is very emotional, but you will "think, laugh, and probably cry" when you see it.

As far as the team being there, I did see several of the women's basketball team along with Coach Harper and Jeff Dunlap Director of Basketball operations.  Did not see any of the men's players, but they could have been there.

Definitely a must see for any Pack fan or college basketball fan.

Re: GoPack.com NC State to Hold Advance Screening of ESPN

A few thoughts:

The film was superb. It beautifully told the story of '83, illustrated what a great man / coach V was, and showed all of the good work that V's legacy and his foundation is doing.

It was nice to seem them acknowledge our NCAA troubles, and then confirm what actually had gone wrong (minor) vs the rumors spread from the book. May ********* rot in hell.

My anger at Fowler for hiring Lowe was renewed. It was a cowardly, lazy move. He wasn't ready for the job and fowler went with him as a choice the fanbase was forced to embrace. As a result, one of our greatest legends was tarnished. I can't help but think he would have been more instrumental in this film if not for the.... Unpleasantness.

Gottfried was there and was quoted on gopack: “It was big-time,” Gottfried said. “It was even better than I thought it was going to be – and I had high expectations.”

And frankly I couldn't have said it better myself.  I really expected it to be great, and it was exceptional.  I can't believe I have to wait til Sunday to see it again.

Hmmm. I was there and I mean basically one whole endzone of Reynolds was full plus a couple hundred on the floor. I'm really bad at these types of estimates but it was a pretty decent crowd. 1500? 2000?

Tyler Lewis was there, as well as most of the womens team and coaches.

Took my 15 yo daughter (a big State fan) to see it. I could see the excitement in her face as she watched clips from the games. I had to keep telling her its OK, we win!  It was definitely something you will want to share with the younger generation of fans.

RE: GoPack.com NC State to Hold Advance Screening of ESPN 30-for

I'd say about 1000-1500 people maybe.

These folks were there...

Whit
Mike Warren
Alvin Battle
George McClain
Cozell
Walt Densmore
Dinky
Ernie Myers

Pam Valvano
John Saunders - ESPN
Coach Gott
Yow

The presentation was over when the movie ended.

I talked to Battle and McClain afterwards.

Battle works for unc* healthcare..I believe he said IT - he apologized.

McClain played for Rocky Mt. HS when I was at Kinston High.  They were #1 in the state, we were #4 - both were 4A back then.  I told him that I hated him for lighting us up for 47 at RMt - they won 77-70.  I was really excited when I heard he was going to NCSU, but he never panned out.

Regarding the movie, loved the footage of the UVA games.
Several good bits with Coach K as expected.
A couple of clips of Roy should have been omitted (he had nothing to do with that era) as well as a segment about the scandal.
Very good clips of Whit and particularly Thurl, Gannon, and Max Perry.
I wish there had been a little more on Lorenzo.

I was a little disappointed at the end of the show - I guess because this season has not gone the way we thought it would and I'm tired of living in the past.
