If you want to start a forum that's guaranteed to get lots of traffic might I suggest one just for tatas, upskirts, and bikinis. It would quickly dwarf all others.

It would be cool to have an individual forum users on-line count to complement the total users on-line.  At a glance, one could see where the action was.

Love this. Hopefully this means we'll continue to see an uptick is baseball-related articles from the Austin, James, etc. (I think I saw that alluded to somewhere, I just can't remember).

And like someone else said, season ticket sales are at an all-time high, so now seems like the perfect time to capitalize on the excitement around the program...

I have never used the pull down and hit the forum button and go the forum

since the Florida State pull down goes to the Florida site, I have never trusted them and ignore them

OK.  I see it has been added to the menu.  So it only takes 1 click.  But still...why force people to navigate back and forth to read about baseball, football, and basketball?

I love the combined season long threads for olympic sports.  I will probably go to the new board to follow the men's tennis thread and men's soccer thread..  But it is kind of a pain to have to go to a new board just to follow men's tennis.  Other sports I would have followed(women's tennis, wrestling, women's soccer, cross country, etc...), I will likely follow less out of sheer laziness.  Not interested enough in those sports to spend the extra few seconds navigating away from the main forum.

Maybe most people(including myself) will end up liking this change.  We will see.

posters have been asking for a separate board for over a year. Some because they feel it helps the sport they are interested in, some because they want the "clutter" off this board.


I had asked the PTB to either tell the posters why it is not a good idea, for all the points you mentioned plus more they have or try it on a trial basis.

With the increased attention for the baseball program, if it ever was going to work, now is the time. We are trying it on a test basis to see if there is increased or decreased traffic. In the first 2+ days, some people say they do not care enough to go over and others are happy to see a separate board. Someone posted on one topic yesterday they did not ever see the topic on the program they were interested in before and was surprised there was a season long topic. the WBB people posted they think they should have a separate board devoted only to WBB because other programs have it, it would reduce the "I hate WBB" posts and it would help in recruiting.

Someone on the premium board asked if the Olympic Sports board could be premium only. Maybe they wanted the clutter off the other premium board, maybe other reasosn.

I do not know how to define increased traffic, this is a learn as we go experience for me.

All I can say is we tried to listen to the posters when they repeated asked the question and was willing to try. There is a topic over there saying we are trying this, but if you, the posters, do not participate, it is going back the way it was before.

on a similar subject, we asked about moving the MBB ticket posts from Ticket Exchange to here and the majority said to leave it on The Ticket Exchange.

As a paying subscriber since 2005 (I had to change my account hence the more recent date on this account) my vote is to get rid of everything not NCSU football and basketball and similar for the ACC in general.  I tried not to denigrate any one person's opinion with my request, please do me the same courtesy and respect my opinion without bashing me for mine.

I would compromise on my request if it would at least get some of the above things pushed out to another forum, baseball would be a prime one for that.

I, on the other hand, care deeply about ALL NC State sports, and couldn't care less what other Pack fans think about the Red Sox, the Yankees, NASCAR, the Panthers, the Hurricanes, where the best place is to buy aluminum siding for my house, etc.

I think this is going to come down to...you can't please even half of the people, half of the time.

I have been consistently shot down on this, but I would have a separate board for unc-ch's review.

Inside Communism has their womens basketball and baseball forums linked in the pulldown on the main page, as well as the "Featured Forums" pulldown while in the forum area. So it sounds like it can be done, or did you just mean you dont have the permissions to do so?

I would like to see Non-STATE sports in a different forum. The is way too much stuff not-state related on the board. I would put all the MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL stuff and any extraneous stuff into this forum.

My choice would be to keep all NCSU sports on the main forum. I am interested in all of our teams. Then push all pro sports to another forum. I have mixed feeling about all the UNC garbage. We do go overboard at times.

My 2 cents is I concur with most of this.  I would like to see all our sports on the same forum.  I don't have a problem with a different forum for the Pro sports and the like.  

I was sure we played baseball yesterday and couldn't find anything on it....Then I had the hit your head V8 moment and realized there was a different forum.  Not hard to get to with it now on the drop down , but I personally would prefer it be on the main sports page.  No big deal either way.

On the other hand, I do like having UNC scandal stuff easily accessible to not only us, but anybody who visits.

I don't. I'm very tired of all the "nothin" posts about all things UNC. I skip them all and wish I didn't have to scroll by so many of them.

This is a great idea. However, please don't separate basketball and football into two separate boards. I like bring able to get all my news on the big 2 sports in one place.

I finally found out posters are talking about the "Featured Forums" pull down on the right and not the pulldown on far left and have requested the "Featured Forum" pulldown be updated
