Calvin can be a double double guy, but CJ is a head case. I think Gott is trying to walk the fine line with his head. If he leaves him on the bench, we see more and more CJ and less and less Calvin. I know everyone is saying leave CJ on the bench, and I understand that, but we need Calvin in the game. I just know I am glad that my career doesn't hinge on the decisions of 18-22 year olds.

CJ needs to start on the bench Wednesday night. He and Zo are in for a rude awakening next year in the Association.

Calvin played a great game against FSU. yeah, you're right. i saw him get a couple of sick dunks in that game. cj turned the ball over 5 times though. a theme that has gotten progressively worse lately. its like pesky things like "travelling" and "out of bounds" seem to just elude cj. thank god calvin is there to save him.

I may be in the minority today but I would love that. It's ultimately Gott's responsibility to get them rolling. We'd actually have the depth we needed this year to live up to the hype.

Calvin, barring a huge outburst from here out, is a second-rounder.
Zo is a borderline first/second-rounder, but will go ahead of Calvin.
Howell is underrated, and will have a long but humble NBA career.
Wood will play in Europe.

CJ's going to leave because he appears tired of the college game. Zo's probably gone with two PG's backing him up next season (Lewis, Barber).

Hell, we could go to a three guard lineup next year if Zo came back.
It would be run and gun ala 'nova or UCONN.

RE: Brown & Leslie and the NBA
I think Leslie, barring a drastic turnaround, has screwed his NBA chances. Last year he made amazing strides from his first year. Everyone was talking about his amazing potential. Now he's played another full season and he isn't getting any better. And I think his lack of effort and his weak mental are gonna scare away lots of teams. Had Leslie left after last season he would have benefitted from "the potential" that existed. Now it appears that potential might be a pipe dream. I'm not sure Leslie has the work ethic or mental toughness to improve anymore than he is right now. Look at the transformation Howell's body has undergone since he came here. Leslie's been knowing that he's skinny and needs to beef up but he's still as thin as he was his first season. That makes me question his work ethic.

You could see that developing during last season, but from that time to now, there has been little to show. This leaves a lot of things still to work on to be ready to play in the NBA. Right now I think there would be a question about how and when that is going to take place.

RE: Brown & Leslie and the NBA
I don't know how to look at it. Even with his issues, obviously we're a better team if we have CJL. Then again, if CJ is back next season, it's an indicator that things did not go the way they should have this year. If CJ and Zo are both back, we'd definitely have some nice depth next season. If the draft were today, they're probably both 2nd round picks, so who knows what happens.

Maybe Gottfried is worried that he'll turn into a locker room cancer. Turn into a locker room cancer? I think this has already been a problem for quite some time. See Wood's quote after the game. Something is amiss and, simple trial and error results in one likely source of discontent...

Well, there could be a situation where the players didnt care.
When Les was the coach I used to see the players out at the bars right after the games win or lose. They didnt see torn up ever.

He takes too many risks. Sometimes that puts him in a position where he can't bail himself out with athleticism. IMO that's his main issue. And that can be fixed. LOLOLOLOLOL...if you think Calvin has good footwork then you probably think the US economy is very strong.
There's are a few times about every two or three games that Calvin makes a great play around the basket but it's made entirely with his athleticism.
When have you seen Calvin make a move that required offensive fundamentals?
When have you EVER seen Calvin shoot a basic turnaround jumper? You haven't and the reason you haven't is because it requires decent footwork.
When have you seen Calvin shot within two feet of the basket with his entire body parallel to the floor and facing the basket? You haven't and that's why he gets his shot blocked so much. He does the same thing Tracy Smith used to do and jack-knife his body, making himself shorter and off-balance.
When have you watched a game that Calvin hasn't traveled at least once? Not many and it all is due to poor footwork and his lack of confidence going against players with equal size and athleticism.
With even decent footwook Calvin would be a much better offensive player and harder to defend. The reason Plumlee owned Calvin that last game was due strictly to his use of fundamentals. As big and robotic as Plumlee can be, he dominated Calvin by using solid footwork.
ETA: With all that being said, Calvin will definitely get drafted and it will surprise me more if he gets drafted in the second round than first. Some GM will fall in love with his athleticism and that will overshawdow his shortcomings. First 3 seconds of this video. WHAT THE HELL!!! You only proved my point! Calvin walked his a*s off on that move. LOLOLOLOLOL Yeah, the refs suck... shoud've been called! LOL ---------------------------------------------
