Yeah, if you have a big problem with rednecks, a Nascar race might not be the best place to go. I've never had any problems. You might be a redneck, if you....................................... Personally, I have met some great people at the tracks, Rockingham, Charlotte, Darlington, and Daytona.

They just need to take the Nationwide car and put a bigger engine in the car. If this is your Super Bowl, Nascar, then the lights went out for good on your sport.

Re: NASCAR 2013 - Nationwide wreck/injuries - 500 as scheduled
And I will add that I originally got my Bristol season tix by winning a lottery drawing when they added the Kulwicki Terrace seats. Me and my cousin called all morning to try and get tix the day they went on sale, but never got through. I had also gone by the track weeks earlier to fill out a form that would go in a bucket and be drawn from on the day of the "lottery". They would take calls and have a few agents drawing from the bucket until they were all sold. They sold them all before lunch that day. I called a few days later to see if my name got drawn out of the bucket. They told me no, but when my visa statement came a few weeks later there was a big ol' charge to Bristol Motor Speedway for four tickets. I called again, and they told me then that yes I did indeed have season tix. SWEET!!
My...how times have changed with Bristol and nascar.

I think they need to change the point system to where you get 1 point for every lap led and maybe 100 pts to win a race. There needs to be more incentive to lead laps.

I still think the best idea I ever heard was to do away with all the championship monetary awards at the end of the year. Take all that money and divide it amongst the races for the winner of each race. Let the end of season points champion simply have a trophy and no money. They can then take the trophy and go market it for more money. The Super Bowl does not pay huge $ to the winners. I don't think nascar should either.

RE: NASCAR 2013 - Nationwide wreck/injuries - 500 - #48 wins
I used to have permanent seats at Bristol too but gave them up because the track was so hard to get to and the traffic + parking was horrendous. This was in the Bristol heyday. Now that they changed the track (twice), the racing there is not near as good and plenty of seats are available. I bet the traffic and parking is better now since it is no longer a sellout. I still have permanent seats at Charlotte (25+ years) but I don't go to these races much either because Charlotte has become one of the worse races to see. Really boring now.

I havent been to many races from the stands since I grew up in the sport, but it really is worth the price of admission to go buy the worst looking Earnhardt shirt and hat, buy a cooler of beer, tailgate and people watch in the seats. It really is fun. Rednecks are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.

The fake caution within the last ten laps is necessary I guess to keep people watching, but then what is the incentive to watch the first 190?

Darlington as well. Great, Dover is about 2 hours away. Remember he's talking about Dover, Delaware and not the Dover in Craven County, NC.

The PackPride car (39) finished 5th. Great job, ME01 Took a Nascar Nap & woke up with 33 laps to go. Perfect. I wonder if Chad Knaus told the 48 to rip the splitter after the checker flag to destroy the evidence Wouldn't be the first time.

The finish was pretty good. Still haven't gotten over watching that wreck yesterday. Reading an article there was a link to the worst racing disaster. 24 hr Le Mans in 1955. 85 spectators killed and one driver. Many decapitated. The car was made of a magnesium alloy (frame I guess). If you remember chemistry magnesium does not like water.

You must not live near these "Juuunnnneee-yerrrr" fans in the Concord/Kannapolis area. And yes his father, the REAL Dale Earnhardt, the NASCAR Hall of Famer, 7-Time Cup Champion and winner of 76 Cup races, did say this and it is as true today as it was then.

Mike Golic is an idiot & needs to not even try to talk about NASCAR. He said his first thought after seeing the wreck was who would have to go to a back up car on Sunday. He didn't think about the fans. And that's NOT what makes him an idiot. He doesn't understand that the two series are different, uses two different cars, with totally different drivers. That's why I don't talk about hockey. I'll sound like an idiot.

Jr fans are typically the most "Larry the Cable Guy"-like fans of all NASCAR drivers... And so if nascar fans are like their drivers, as you suggest here, that must make you, a Kyle Busch fan, one misreable lout to be around. And what, about 30th loser? Oh, I know, but he's maturing. As for the race, really boring. Seemed almost impossible to pass. What made Daytona great for fans (if not drivers) were the continual lead changes. Yesterday, everyone was either content, or only capable of, following the leader.

www.awfulannouncing.com/2013/f...ls-50-cent.htmlFox's Daytona 500 prerace show featured Erin Andrews in her "Fox signed me to this huge contract and I need to randomly show up at our biggest sporting events" role by... randomly walking down pit road with absolutely no purpose whatsoever. Andrews wandered down pit road strangely in awe of the entire scene, awkwardly bumping into Kevin Harvick, and then... hey look, it's 50 Cent! And in the strangest/most uncomfortable sidline reporting moment since Joe Namath wanted to kiss Suzy Kolber, 50 Cent went in for the liplock and Erin Andrews blocked his advance like Dikembe Mutombo.

Yep, though I didn't see pre-race yesterday, in general, the mass marketing and cross-promotion of NASCAR has worn thin.
And the announcing crew has become such a pom-pom waving crowd, there is no substance. I don't care much for Johnny Miller on golf, but he brings a view that is of value and calls a spade a spade. Would like to see NASCAR with more of that approach. Everything can't be "awesome".
