Pitching, defense, and speed on the bases are definite strengths. Hopefully we find some pop in the bats. I think Austin starts to show some power this year.

Looking forward to seeing the team in March at Myrtle Beach. I will only be able to attend the Sunday game this year, but can't wait.

If our "down" years are going to be a 7-5 football team and a bowl game, a 15-4 (4-2) basketball team in late January, and a top 10 pre-season ranking in baseball?? UNC ranked 1 due to entire pitching staff coming back. Those who are failing in school miraculously get four A's! (not one or two, but four!) in summer school to remain eligible. (Must have been tough sitting in classes 6 hrs per day through 2 summer sessions). “Coach told me I was going home,” [Hobbs] Johnson said. “He didn’t really say that I needed to get the grades, he said pretty much you need to go on home, I don’t think you’re going to make it here. I think that’s when it clicked for me.” Johnson turned up his studying efforts and turned in four A’s in the summer of 2011.

It's going to take quite an improvement for Brett to bring any power. Only Ratledge and Bergquist had lower slugging percentages last year. One thing is for sure, he certainly strikes out enough to be a power hitter.
