Is it just me or was ESPN having some issues too? I saw the news ticker moving but the video was frozen. I didn't have the smoothest of streams on the watchespn website either.

HELP!!!!!
Loaded Twitch app on ipad. Search on "ebonicmaser" comes up as "no results." Also tried ebonicmaster just in case.
Suggestions? I live in Ohio and espn3 and Justin.tv dont work on ipad.

I'm traveling and can't access watchespn. My cable company is not included. Guess it'll be Gamecast. Earlier post listed this as an ipad option.

ACC "live" is worthless for me....however it seems i may be better off not seeing the game.

I stream at a very high bitrate. if you have a low download speed, or are watching on an ipad or other mobile device it may stutter for you. PeeterGriffin wrote: Stream is pretty much unwatchable for me... |

I get the old "appears your cable subscription does not currently have access to this content" message. No cable, just Time Warner internet here + Roku. Sucks for sports.

To get around this problem, I use a VPN service to get an IP address based in the United States. Many VPN services are available. I use witopia.net ($50 per year for their basic VPN service but you can also pay $6 per month if you are only out of the country temporarily). The VPN service encrypts all of your traffic and the encryption overhead slows things down. But there is a trick to this also -- the validation of the IP address (to determine whether or not you are eligible to stream from espn3.com) only happens at the beginning of the stream. So I connect to the VPN, start the game stream, and then after about 30 seconds, I disconnect from the VPN. ESPN3.com sees this as a temporary drop in service but it is resilient enough to pick right back up without destroying my session. Thereafter, I get to use the full bandwidth of my internet connection without having to deal with the encryption overhead. of course, none of that will help you for today's game because it is apparently blacked out on ESPN3.

perhaps the NASCAR race will have lots of cautions and end up running over and ESPN will lift the blackout on ESPN3...like they did for an earlier game of ours this year. Of course that screws over anyone who can't watch online.

If you have a cable package with ESPN then you should be able to watch online...or at least via the WatchESPN app. Technically you're not using ESPN3 in that case, you're using WatchESPN.

This is how I think of it...ESPN3 is just another network (like ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, just only available online). WatchESPN is a platform (whether it be the app or website) through which ESPN network content is delivered. So they are different.
ESPN3 is freely available with no subscription...whereas access to any other networks (whether by TV or WatchESPN) requires a cable subscription with ESPN. Some games are ESPN3 exlcusives, meaning they are available everywhere. Sometimes they are streamed from a regional broadcast (i.e. Raycom) and therefore blacked out where games are availble through the regional coverage. For whatever reason, ESPN makes some ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU events available on ESPN3, but blacked out in geographic areas where the game is likely a big draw (i.e. ACC games blacked out for the eastern 1/2 of the US). In this case, the game is blacked out on ESPN3 for the entire US.
Not sure why I felt the need to launch into all that, just trying to share what knowledge I've picked up over the past 6-8 months being without an expanded basic cable package and trying to figure out when I can catch games online.
