Didn't even know we were in the mix for Mudiay. Didn't see anything about him on the PP recruiting list. On the Martin twins, they are both listed as SF's at 6'6". Are they able to play the SG or #2 spot as well? Does this affect our chances of landing Pinson? Oh, by the way, playing 2nd fiddle to Kentucky is the norm, unfortunately.

But let's face facts -- Cal hits a HR more than he strikeouts, and I would put it near 100% that he lands Jones or Mudiay (unless some miracle happens and the twins are back as SO).

Maybe Harrow will still be there Seriously though, you are likely correct in the assertion that Cal will get Jones or Mudiay. 5 star PG Jaquan Lyle almost begged for a UK offer and did not get one, so now he has removed UK from his list. Makes me think Kentucky is sold on one of these two committing.

Kecoughtan has beaten Hampton once this season and this game is a huge one in the Peninsula division as Kec.(15-1) and Hampton(14-2) are at the top with VHSL playoffs coming up soon. They will likely see each other at least once more in the post season. Kec. has a big height advantage with former NCSU target Rodney Bullock(Providence) and four other seniors at 6'7. Hampton has no one over 6'4. Cat has his work cut out for him tonight.

Just moved here! I live in Newport News. Kecoughtan is pretty strong. A guy I work with is the father of another player on Kecoughtan and he says Rodney is like another son. Looking forward to heading out there with him and watching a good basketball game. He said the gym will fill up so get there early if you were looking to attend! Are you from the area?

Be nice to hear something from the '14 class. I want Randle in '13 and another big man (transfer, Sidy, etc.)
I'd love to land one of Grayson Allen, D'Angelo Russell or Ahmed Hill and then land Lyle. We could definitely use two more big men in that class as well.

Anyone know how Coger did? I guess it's safe to assume Coger didn't do too well because if he did those who want CMG to offer him a scholly would have posted his stats. He's a low major, D2 player.

If I remember correctly...Cody Martin is more of a post oriented wing where as Caleb has more of an outside game. However, the knock on Purvis coming out of HS was that he was erratic from deep and he has been anything but when he has the time to set up and shoot, so I'll just wait until they get here and I see them play to give a scouting report.

RE: Basketball Recruiting Thread 9.0
Hampton asbolutely demolished Kecoughtan last night. Cat Barber didn't have the best shooting game (made 0 jumpers) but still scored around 12-15 points. He reminds me of Zo and can pretty much get to the rim at will. He is amazingly quick and plays hard defense (had atleast 3 steals). Kec. did really well packing four people in the paint and others from Hampton stepped up and hit open jumpers. Cat has very good vision from the floor and can make just about any pass that he needs to. Like previously stated, this was a huge game for Hampton and Cat as it was also senior night.
On a side note, does anyone know how the McD's AA game work? Is there tryouts?

No "Tree Outs". Usually they look at who Kerliner is recruiting and that makes about 4-5 right there, regardless of worth really. Then its who is related to who, then its what Coach K wants if hes taken his medicine, then its a up toa select Ronnie Mcdonnie committee of idiots....and so on. We need to have more of them due to the fact it helps with recruiting others and school exposure.

On a side note, does anyone know how the McD's AA game work? Is there tryouts? Nominations are made by coaches, already done. Lots of kids are nominated that really have no shot at the game, but some coaches do it to honor hard work and dedication(814 boys and girls total). Final rosters will be announced on the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Show on ESPNU on February 14 at 5:00 p.m. ET. Game will be played April 3 at the Chicago United Center. Some players have already received letters to the effect that they are on the roster, but are not supposed to announce until the actual date, for suspense I guess. I know Rondae Jefferson, Aaron Gordon and Malcolm Lee are confirmed to be on the roster. Have heard a rumor the Cat Barber knows he is on the team as well but no confirmation.

Really hope Clark gets an offer, like posted above, if he goes elsewhere, he will end up being an AA and we will be left shooting ourselves in the foot. At the end of the day, we want the best players in NC to go to NCSU, help with bringing and keeping locals in the fold. It's not like NC isn't a good source of talent, DT, MJ, Wilkins, et al.

From what I have seen, the coaches are going after guys who can cut it in class, have some class out in public, and that don't like losing. If we had a team full of guys who want to win and hate losing like our 3 FR, we would have a team that wins Titles.
