RE: Basketball Recruiting Thread 9.0
I noticed we have an offer to Thomas Hamilton Jr. (2013) 6'9" Center.
Where do we stand with him ... I haven't seen him mentioned much on here.

rabies71 wrote: Power Forward- 6'7" , 210 lbs. from Oak Hill Seems a bit undersized for PF. Having seen him play, he's a great athlete though and is a very good rebounder, I was impressed actually. I wasn't expecting a whole lot but he looked pretty solid out there. Wasn't real aggressive trying to score the ball, but he would be a nice guy to stick around here for 3 or 4 years I'd say. But with that said, I would be shocked if he didn't reclassify to 2014, even though he has several good D1 offers. I know us, Villanova, Washington and Xavier have offered him, not sure who else.

So with Noel blowing his knee out last night, how long before Calapari heats up the recruiting trail throwing the house and camper at Randal and others. Noel may be out for a year with a bad knee injury....hmmmm????

EDIT: Crossroads Christian, very low level of competition for Djitte What are his numbers against respectable competition? All the numbers you post always seems to be against poor competition. Just curious. MOF, didn't he play against the Great Tyrek Coger? Do you know their numbers against one another?

Re: Basketball Recruiting Thread 9.0
Djitte, for whatever reason did not play in that game.
The low level of competition is a result of Northwood Temple being in the NCISAA 1A classification. They do not generally play the tough tournament and showcase schedule that Word of God(same classification) does.
The scores posted lately are from conference play, Northwood plays in a relatively weak conference also. I think the NCISAA playoffs may give us a better handle on what Djitte can do, but even that is going to be low level play until the third round or maybe the Semi finals

Could effect everything. Why would that effect next year's recruiting class? Noel was supposed to be gone next next year. Unless you think he may come back now. But that would mean less room for recruits next year. Hope the kid is OK. Probably gone regardless.

Could effect everything. I don't think I follow. Noel was a lock to be 1-and-done since last year when he signed. He was projected a top 10 pick the entire season. Calipari has been selling starting roles all off-season because so many of his guys are projected to jump early. Don't think this is going to effect Cal's recruiting tactics at all. Though I do think this could hurt their chances of making the tournament this year.

RE: Basketball Recruiting Thread 9.0
Boonewolf, I don't think it changes a thing, as far as Cal pursuing Randle. Noel was a lottery pick anyway, and many have him going #1. Cal also has a backup plan if he misses on Randle, Aaron Gordon, is nearly as good, (or projected anyway) #6 player in the country. Gordon is down to just 3 schools. Kentucky already has 6 top notch recruits. It wouldn't shock me to see Kentucky land Randle, but Noel was gone anyway.

Maybe it affects the Bobhornets more than the UK calicats. I see where you are coming from. Get hurt, hell with you we have already recruited over you anyway...See ya. Interesting times. With all that Beef coming to UK if I was Randle I would go elsewhere.

packskins wrote: How are the Jordan Brand Game rosters selected? Saw that Cat Barber didn't make the team. Just like the McDonalds AA game, the process is VERY political. For example, Julius Randle missed a lot of the season but he's on the roster...give me a break. Also, you can guarantee a UNC recruit will always be in the Jordan Classic.

Re: Basketball Recruiting Thread 9.0
Lee would be a great addition. Hamilton would be too as I think he just hasn't been seen much. Coger is still an option as well.
Let's say we get Hamilton, Coger, Lee and Lewis starts. The other 5 we could bring in would be Barber, Lee, Turner, Coger, and Hamilton. Nice mix of speed, girth, and shooting.

Rumor is he's already been notified(ahead of time) as are, traditionally, those who actually made it. All in all, I'd be surprised if he didn't make it. Props to Cat, Burger game or not. He got game.
