Live odds has Miami and Indiana as the highest, at 9/2. State is 50/1 and the Cheats are 100/1. Duke at 9/1.

Win 3 of the last 4, get in the tourney, and see what happens.  There's not a team out there we can't beat.  But there's also very few tournament quality teams we couldn't easily lose to.  noidea

Newest Dancecard out through Sunday's games - has us at #31 (CHeats at #34) - which would be an 8 seed. Lowest we have been all year.

There are very few teams of any quality we couldn't lose to....however I agree that there is no team we CAN'T beat.

There may be only ~5 teams with more talent on the starting 5 than we have...

Our total lack of a bench hurts us badly...Roy got a LOT out of his ability to put in a full line change during the game Saturday.

Any speculation on how we lost to them and still remained ahead of them?  Is their schedule that much weaker than ours?

Well, we're 1-1 against UNC.  The last game isn't the only one that counts.

They've beaten UNLV.

We've beaten Duke and UConn.

SOS is pretty even.

SHOULD BE IN

North Carolina State (19-8, 8-6; RPI: 25, SOS: 14)

Saturday's fade at North Carolina is the latest in a growing list of disappointing efforts from the Wolfpack. At just 8-6 in a less-than-robust ACC this season, the Pack are arrowing toward a very undesirable seed line in the NCAAs. They came out of an 11-seed last year to make the Sweet 16, but falling into the 8/9 area might push them into an unfavorable second-game matchup, since they (if they are the third-highest overall seed from the ACC) wouldn't be able to be in Duke's or Miami's regionals.

^^ I think as the season has progressed, it's apparent that a loss in Winston Salem isn't the death knell many thought it was when it happened.  Yes, blowing the large lead makes it sting more than it should, but they've been really competitive at home and it looks as though Bzdelik isn't the blithering idiot we all thought he was just last year.  He has some players and is loaded with young players to help build a decent foundation.

On the other hand, lose to them in Raleigh, might as well find a dumpster and some matches, it's going to be ugly, fast.

As long as we finish 10-8 (at worst) or better, we are good. 9-9. We may be right on the bubble. I think we are fine but damn. we need to get out of this 8-9 seed stuff

Win 3 of 4 and we'll still be fine.  If we only win 2 of 4 we better not lose first round of the ACCT.

We'll win out, but we honestly should have been a 100 percent sure fire lock by now.

to recognize the accomplishment of a former NC State MBB coach, it is called the Herbble on this board, since that is where his teams seemed to be, most of the time pirate

9-9 and we're out 10-8 and we're in. We will almost certainly be in.

That being said... an 8+ seed with this kind of talent is just gross. I'd love to see us heat up and land as a 6 seed. Puts us in a great spot to make a nice run. At least get to a 7 seed please... we're pretty much ****** as an 8-9 seed.

Assuming the best. Say we win out. And then say we win the ACC tourney. How high of a seed could we land under those circumstances? I'm guessing a 4 or 5

I personally think we'd get a 3 in that scenario.  RPIForecast says that if we win out the regular season we'd be projected to be 22 in the RPI after the regular season, which would translate to a 6, and sounds about right.  Winning the ACC tournament would likely mean beating the current #1 and #2 RPI teams.  I think our RPI would jump to make us a 4, but as the team just winning the ACC tournament, beating 2 top-10 teams back-to-back, winning our last 7 or 8 games, and factoring in that we were missing our PG for 3 of our losses (which they claim they factor in), I think we'd get bumped up to a 3.  That would be a DARN good resume.  Only 1 bad loss, 3 top-10 wins, 2 more top-30 wins, hot at the end of the season, etc.

Trouble is that we've got to go win 7 or 8 in a row to make that happen.

we play like horse **** on the road so losing to Florida St on senior night is very possible. who has confidence that we win at GA. tech? we had to have everything go our way to squeek by them at home. we may be safe if the NCAA tournament started today but we still got time to piss more games away. I've said all year that we won't get a solid effort on defense from this bunch as long as there is a guarantee of another game. that's just how they work. that's what patting them on the back after every loss telling them its OK its just one game we will be fine does. they are OK with losing.

You have a good point, but you're being rather melodramatic about it.  Honestly, had we not lost to UVA, finishing with a bye would have been very possible.

as long as we can get in, we'll be fine!

but the UNC game was THE WORST GAME OF THE GOTTFRIED Era.

I was there and it was an epic FAIL!

But I still cling to the hope that Gott will figure out the best lineup and the team will take a turn for the better.

^ Georgetown was a 3, Kansas was the 2.

Back to 2013 - I hope we are the 8 in Gonzaga's region. We would be a very dangerous 8 seed - as will UNC.

I honestly expect us to win the two home games and the game at GT. The FSU game will be a toughy, especially if they are playing for a winning record. If we finish the season winning 7 out of 8 and then make it to the Semi's of the ACC tourney I think we'll land somewhere around a 4 or 5 seed.
