Our Resume

per cbssports.com bracketology.

Based on this, I think we're comfortably in the tourney provided we don't completely tank this 2nd half of conference play. I can't help but imagine where we'd be had we held on to that lead vs. Miami.

I've tried to block my memory from those wtf losses @ Wake, MD and UVA, cuz I still get pissed everytime I venture there ohlord

Well, there are 19 teams IN the bracket, labeled as "on the bubble".  If you consider that an equal number would be out of the bracket, that's 38 teams "on the bubble".  I guess I can live with that.

The reality is that if the tourney was selecting today, we'd be solidly in the tourney.  Assuming we don't have some monumental fail over our final games, we'll still be solidly in the tourney.

I guess the best way to think about it is to say that we could still play our way out of the Tourney...but I wouldn't consider it likely.

Wow...unbridled optimism.  I think we're looking at at least 2 more losses, unless something about the way this team is playing changes drastically.

I don't see us losing any more than 2 games max heading into the tourney. We aren't going to miss the ncaa's and are by no means going to be anywhere near "the bubble". I think at worst we'll be an 8 seed and depending on our health, will be an absolute force to reckon with come March.

We are a very good team and I see our guys pulling it all together for March. Rest up this week, work some **** out, and start the run with blowing VT out of the gym Saturday.

If we go 24-7 in the regular season, we will most definitely be a 3,4, or 5. I don't see us winning 7. I see us winning 5, going 22-9, and getting a 6 or 7 seed.

Most of our turnovers are unforced or involve Leslie in the paint.  Zo and now Lewis have done a good job of taking care of the ball.

Pressure defense hasn't worked much against State this year.  Plus, if you extend the the court State will kill you in transition.  That is the game Gott wants to play.

It doesn't work against Lorenzo, but Miami made Lewis look pretty lost when they pressed him at the end of the game. He might adjust to it, if the pressure came every possession, but it affected him at the end of the game.

with our lack of depth UF would wear us out, they don't just put pressure on at the end of the game lol
State def strong in transition as is UF since they press and pressure the ball constantly resulting in turnovers that is how they score a lot as well...that and the multiple people who can hit from 3...lets hope if State gets in we do not play these guys. I would rather play Mich again.

For State to get a 3 seed they would need to win the ACC tournament.  FSU last year is a perfect example for State this year.

FSU had some nice wins vs the Blues, but lost some games they shouldn't have.  They won the ACC tournament and were 24-9 heading into NCAA tournament.  That ACC tourney title earned them the 3 seed.

Unfortunately State has no more high quality wins on the schedule until the ACC tournament.  Yes, I don't consider UNC a high quality win.  Sure winning over there is a great achievement but it will not have an impact on seeding.  Now beating a Duke or Miami in the ACC tournament will impact seeding.  As long as their is no massive meltdown State should get a 4-6 seed unless they win the ACC tournament which could put them in as a 3 seed.coolcoolcool

That's my view on it.

Shows that if we finish 24-7 (winning out the 7 games left) our expected RPI would be about 14.

That would be solidly in the 4 seed stage (13-16)  - then we would have to win at least 2 in the ACCT to get to 3 seed - win the ACCT and maybe a 2 seed.

GO PACK!!! BEAT VaTech!!!!

One game on the schedule right now!

If UNC-CHeat wins this week, at #1 Duke, then beats UVa at home, our winning at the Nose Dome could be a quality win.

I see what you did there, and I don't resemble that remark. pirate We did, after all, prove that Duke is beatable.

RE: 2013 NCAAT MBB bracketology 2/12 - NC State #8 (CBS) #7 espn

A lot of scenarios still likely. One thing is, if we are going to win the ACC tourney, the real championship (unless you are UNC) we will most likely have to beat both Duke and Miami, in the semis, and finals. Even with a couple more regular season losses, Beating both those teams back to back would really propel our seed.
