If his bracket is done on "If the season ended today" then I don't see how you can possibly list us as a 7 seed.

If his bracket is done on what he thinks you will be at the end of the season, then I guess that would make a little more sense noidea

Based on the current body of work, I think a 4 seed is about where we should be slotted.

RE: 2013 NCAAT MBB bracketology 2/5 - NC State #8 (CBS)

Right now the big 3 (RPI, Pomeroy , and Sagarin) have us at an average of 25 - so that would be a 6th or 7th seed.

If we finish in the top 3 of the ACC (as RPI still projects us at 11-7) we probably can work our way up to a 5th or 4th seed depending on the ACCT.

Win the ACCT (which if we are one of the top 4 seeds we have as good a shot as any - with Zo healthy at least) and we can get to a 3rd seed.

Either way - we are going to be on the big board selection Sunday - and as long as we are not one of the last 4 in (that have to play an extra game) we will have as good a shot as anyone to make it to the final 4.

GO PACK!!! BEAT DUKE!!!!! Heal up Zo!!!!

+1

I would hope the Pack is considered a hot team coming down the stretch.

After the game @ UNC, they won't play any of the current top teams in the ACC, no Duke, Miami, or UVA - so I'd expect they start winning all/most of these games or they won't have lived up to anywhere close to the hype they received.

I'm just glad that we're talking about seeding and not asking "NCAA or NIT?". We really only have to finish 10-8 in the league to secure a bid. Now I hope we're significantly better than that, but until Zo is healthy, who knows? We do have a fairly easy schedule at the end of the season, so it's entirely possible to be heading to the ACCT with a 8-game winning streak...

RE: 2013 NCAAT MBB bracketology 2/5 - NC State #8 (CBS)

Palm was on 620 this morning.  Said that if we got on a roll that a number 2 seed still isn't out of the realm of possibility, but neither is missing the tournament if we go cold.  Also said that two losses this week would put us on the bubble as a double digit seed.

Way too early to worry about any of that though, just win!

Well - as of right now Jerry Palm has us about an 8 seed - and UNC-CHeat as the 11th seed in the play-in game.

I think we will finish better than the CHeats and we will sweep them.

Now if we can start out the 2nd half of the ACC season by completing the sweep of Duke that would be a great way to get back to winning.

We are 4-1 at home ACC, and 1-3 on the road (all 3 being close losses - and the one at home also - in fact all 4 losses by a combined 7 points).

We have 2 road games this week - win both and we are 3-3 on the road in ACC play and headed to a great finish.

it's tough - but we have beaten both of these teams this year once - that makes a road win a little bit easier. IE our team knows we can beat their teams - since we already have.

Now - we need Zo healthy (especially against Duke) but it is not impossible.

SHOULD BE IN

North Carolina State (16-6, 5-4; RPI: 20, SOS: 11)

The Wolfpack are 11 points away from being 9-0 in the league, but instead they're staring .500 square in the eye with a trip to Cameron on tap after two more tight losses this week. The late-game fade against Miami was less troubling than not being able to take care of business at Virginia, but either way, State hasn't shown the consistent chops to put away games it should win. That's a dangerous habit for March.

The CBS one is perplexing to say the least. If you look at his +/- he has a +1 for NC State. No way you guys were an 8 seed last week and even less likely that you moved up a spot in seeding after a 3 game losing streak.

It just seems like Jerry Palm is throwing stuff together and hoping it sticks. He also has Boise St in the tourney and they're currently 3-5 in the MWC.

we could lose to Clemson and still have a chance in the tournament. Lets the last 3-4 weeks play out and then worry about tournament stuff. We will be fine. Its funny how some of the "experts" on here are already assuming NIT. Lets whine and moan before the season even ends. We will be fine come end of regular season.

Not really...

We're in seventh place right now with more than half of our games being played already.  I don't know how that sets up a forecast for 'being fine'.

ArmandJ, we have 8 games to go. Somehow someway, get to 10-8 or above and we are fine. All the doom and gloom ASSUMING we are on the bubble or not is ridiculous. We do need to win games and get our act together so nothing is "fine". I just don't like seeing people already, with 8 games left, assuming we are in huge trouble. We are not.
